Rankings prediction for this tuesday? (Top 10)

I agree with Buster's lineup, but would still have OSU at 3. I don't see a 1 loss Okie State jumping an undefeated Iowa...yet. LSU could fall further. They didn't come close to what the score showed last night. We will be #7, maybe 6.

Okie State hasn't lost yet, but TCU is the only good team they've played. They still have to play Baylor and Oklahoma both of which I think they lose. TCU upsetting Baylor would be great as well because a 1 loss Big 12 team is very unlikely to make the playoff. I think Iowa will be one spot ahead of Okie State due to schedules.

We'll have two road wins over ranked opponents but will still be behind a one loss team with only one.

My point was that the committee didn't have TCU ranked very high....not sure what Baylor has to do with anything I was discussing.

If it doesn't matter what I think then why did you add at the end what you think?

Interesting chain of events there...

The committee overvalued TCU, in my opinion (and yours, I'm guessing). The fact that I'm not overwhelmed by OK State's win because I thought TCU was overrated to begin with is irrelevant. The committee has a higher opinion of them than I do, which means we can reasonably assume that they'll value a convincing win over TCU more than you or I would. That's all I was getting at.

As for Baylor, that was more for future reference than anything. Because we'll probably see a very similar scenario play out when Baylor loses at some point.

My picks for what the cfp committee will decide and commentary..

1. Clemson
2. Ohio State
3. Alabama
4. Notre Dame
5. Oklahoma State
6. Baylor
7. LSU
8. Iowa
9. Stanford
10. Florida

Osu alabama notre dame order doesn't matter at this point so rearrange the order if you like. Oklahoma State doesn't quite crack the top 4...who are you knocking out...osu? Nah. Baylor because they like them better than Iowa. LSU same deal. Pretty sure the reasoning unofficially will be who would win head to head. Iowa stays in front of Stanford until we lose..if we do. Florida..meh.

What I feel....
1. Clemson
2. Ohio State
3. Alabama
4. Oklahoma State
5. Iowa
6. Notre Dame
7. Baylor
8. LSU
9. Stanford
10. Florida...i guess

Hard to play the comparison score game but a td win over Indiana at Indiana (push) after an Indiana bye week (advantage iowa) and wins over most likely 2 top 25 schools on the road and we are WAY behind osu lol oh well.

ESPN was saying an undefeated OKST. Gets in over undefeated Iowa and when you look at the schedule it would be hard to argue. We need them and Baylor to lose bad.

My best guess:

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Ohio State
4. Notre Dame
5. Okie State
6. Baylor
7. Iowa
8. LSU
9. Stanford
10. TCU

One of the questions the committee needs to ask as it relates to Iowa & Okie State is how does 2 road victories over Top 25 teams compare to 1 home victory over a Top 10 team. Since "latest is greatest" in college football, my guess is the committee will value Okie State's victory greater than Iowa's 2 road wins. Whether it should be that way is up for debate.

Three teams in front of Iowa lost so two steps forward, one step back. Iowa @ #8. I still maintain that Iowa will advance 1 place for each win and, if undefeated, will be sitting at #5 going into the B!G title game. A win there will advance them into the CFP, probably as the #4 seed. Any loss by Iowa will see them in a nice bowl game.

Throwing logic and reason out the door this is what I expect.
1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. OSU
4. Notre Dame
5. Baylor.
6. Oklahoma State
7. Stanford
8. LSU
9. Iowa
10. Florida

What it would be if committee selected based off blind resumes
1. Clemson
2. Iowa
3. Alabama
4. OhSU
5. OKSU
6. Baylor
7. LSU
8. Notre Dame
9. Stanford
10. Florida

Reasons we're not ranked 2nd right now.

We aren't in the SEC.
We aren't a blueblood.
Preseason polls.

If it weren't for those 3 things that should have absolutely no relevance at all, we would be number 2 right now.

I'm guessing it will look something like this:

1. Clemson
2. OSU
3. Alabama
4. ND
5. Ok St
6. Baylor
7. LSU
8. Iowa
9. Stanford
10. Florida

Probably eight, Okie State jumps us. If Stanford jumps us I'll be ******. They beat Colorado who is not a good team. I hope I'm wrong and that we are seven or even six.

I got ...
1. Clemson
2. Ohio St
3. Alabama
4. Notre Dame
5. Okla St
6. Baylor
7. Iowa
8. LSU
9. Florida
10. Stanford

Doesn't matter what you think. It matters what the committee thinks, and they pretty clearly value TCU (and Baylor) more than they probably should have. I won't be surprised if Okie State jumps Iowa. But I won't be surprised if Iowa and Okie State are 6/7, either.

Oklahoma will show both Baylor and TCU that defense still matters and maybe the Committee will come to realize that also. Iowa State had something like 330 yards of offense against TCU in the first half of their game and should have been tied or leading them at the half.
