Damn - loved coach Parker. An amazing teacher, and the results were fantastic. Just thinking of that fat man calling defense on the side line and shaking his arms and fists (no doubt the signal for 4-3 cover 2) - makes me smile. Thank you coach and blessings to your family.

Terrible news to find out this morning. Norm reminded me of my grandpa (as I'm sure he did for a lot of Hawk fans around my age). Old school mentality who was always good for a great quote. Definitely one of those guys who just flat out loved football and coaching young men. He wasn't in it for the money or the glory. The Hawkeye family lost a legend today.

Norm reminded me of Hayden in many ways. He was a guy who'd seen it all, could smell out the B.S and wasn't rattled by anything. Not to mention he was a character with a great sense of humor...a coach and a person ..that everybody loved being around.

Very sad. Diabetes is such a horrible disease; I am confident that he is living with a restored body and soul in Heaven. The Iowa football program will undoubtedly do something to preserve his memory. Condolences to his family and friends.
