Has McCaffrey landed any 2025 recruits

Looks like just about all those looking at Iowa have committed elsewhere?? No big dollars to buy players a coach entering the end of his career nor a lot of success especially when it counts seems to be a lot to overcome. We may be competitive this year if not a tournament team but the future isn't real bright

lol, this is one of his best recruiting cycles since Fran came to IC, we only have 1 Sr. who is really a big contributor who will be gone off of next year's team and Fran is pretty good at retention. Not to mention 2 4 star recruits coming in as Freshman. One might say the future is brighter than the present as it currently stands with this roster.

I agree. If the main pieces of the roster stay, we could be really good in a couple years. Freeman's class of four as seniors with these two freshmen as juniors would look good to me.

Fran’s recruiting has steadily gotten better over the years. It’s still humming, and that’s more because of the eye Fran has and his ability to develop, We’re getting so many kids now from out of state that never would have been on Iowa’s radar in the past. And while he hasn’t landed that stud PG, it’s not like he hasn’t tried. Its not like he just keeps sticking with who he has, he’s cycled em through like a college QB. He misses, he moves on. I like it…: and yet; he’s kept the continuity of his program and has proven rapid development of his players despite not being anywhere near the top of the league in coach pay, nil, fan support, revenue etc. Iowa is going to be good this year, they are going to mow through the OC.

Just to inject a bit of objectivity 247 had Iowa a respectable 31 in 2023 53 in 2024 and of course not rated yet for 2025 since we have no one committed
Not sure humming is a descriptor that one would associate with Iowa basketball recruiting or Iowa basketball in general. Maybe you were thinking of our enemies to the West who were 6 in 2024 and 5 so far this year.
I hope your expectations come to fruition and we are playing in the sweet 16 and not in front of 3500 in the NIT

Aw yes, your love affair with the Clones always comes out this time of year. I’ll agree Iowa has a huge disconnect with its fans but it isn’t the product on the court. I’ll take whatever bet you want that Iowa rolls ISU here in a few weeks

Don't wish to squabble with you but I suspect I have been an Iowa fan longer than most on this board. I remember being glued to the radio listening to the Ralph Miller teams in the 60s Chris Perval Jerry Jones and my favorite George Peeples. that team lost to Texas Western and everyone went crazy until they won the National championship. I was a freshman in 69-70 and had seats behind a pillar watching Brown and Johnson score 100 points a game before the 3 point shot. Beating Purdue when Rick Mount had 62

I have to admit Iowa has had some entertaining teams and good players under McCaffrey but no tournament success and dwindling crowds. Have to believe success on the court has nothing to do with that.

I have never and will never be an Iowa State fan, but the reality is that they have a program that has been very good with good players and great crowds. Not sure if we can get there but if they can do it in Iowa in the Big 12 conference maybe we can get there??

Hope you are right and we upset them and rest assured I will be rooting for the Hawks!
