In this situation, Iowa had just taken a sack and is facing 2nd and 18 from their own 30 with a little over 50 seconds left to play in the half. Instead of potentially tossing a couple of quick incompletions and giving Purdue the chance for a punt block or punt return, he decided to take it to half. It's not a bad decision. Wyoming found themselves in a similar situation in Week 1 and their mistake at the end of that half damaged their chances to win greatly.
