Purdue

Purdue is doing what most teams (including us) do against teams like OSU. They’re jacked to the hilt and letting everything fly.

I don’t think we’ll see this same team. Just like how we beat Ohio State and then got wrecked by WI and Purdue immediately after.

OSU running game completely sucks. How does that happen at that school with all that talent.

Definitely looked that way. Maybe they think they're so talented that they can just line up and beat people. But against a coach like Brohm and that QB and #4 it's not going to happen.

And you have to give Purdue credit too. They are a very physical team on both sides of the ball and they have a D that tackles very well.

I think you're right. OSU thinks they can line up and beat people. I think it was pretty telling when Urban was interviewed on the field before the game. In his special, smug way, he said that they just needed to basically control the game from the beginning and control the crowd. When they didn't do that, they looked lost. Can this team play from behind? Apparently not.

There is no way OSU beats Michigan...especially if Michigan gets Gary back. They can't protect against that D-Line. You can't be one dimensional against a top defense. They will eventually take away your passing game, and when you get behind...pin their ears back.

Watching OSU and Purdue, all I kept thinking about was how Purdue had no respect for the OSU running game. OSU's offensive line doesn't come off the ball in the running game...Purdue will have their hands full with our OLine...we won't run all over them...but we will make them respect it.

The good thing is that Purdue has to go to East Lansing this week. I think they beat Sparty, but Sparty is a wounded animal...and is really freaking physical in the trenches on defense...so Purdue will be feeling that game for a few days. I look at it like a body blow to the Boilers. MSU is now playing for bowl eligibility...since they still have OSU / Maryland / Nebraska on the schedule. MSU is so bad offensively that they have to beat you up in an ugly game to win. Those games take a lot out of you.

Brohm is just an amazing coach. On TOS, after the '14 season, I was pushing for a regime change and lobbying for Brohm (at Western Kentucky at the time). He's an offensive genius.

Rondale Moore is downright scary. He may the best player in the conference, regardless of position.

Heading into the season, I had us pegged at 8-4, with losses to Wisc, PSU, Purdue and IU. We easily took out IU, and should have beat Wisc. Hopefully, we can pull it out against PSU and Purdue.

I'm not saying Brohm is trash, but Purdue has 3 losses already this season. They lost to Missouri and Eastern Michigan led by Tyler Wiegers for crying out loud. That is not the mark of a genius. If he were at Iowa with that record right now we would be calling for him to be fired.

No doubt they started off slow. I think a lot of that was so many new faces on defense. But, what Brohm did is what good coaches do: he righted the ship and made adjustments (including a QB change).

He has an great feel for how to isolate his play makers in space and is a very good motivator. As good as his offense is, I'm more impressed with what he's been able to do with that defense. What makes it even more astonishing is that he's doing all this primarily with Hazell's recruits.

No coach is perfect, but, we'll have to see where that program is in 3 seasons (assuming he sticks around).

They are certainly a better team than I saw vs the Hawks two years ago. Got tickets on the 40 yard line about 12 rows up from Purdue Athletic Dept for $15.00. I will go ahead and predict that our game will sell out in their old stadium. And we will win by two touchdowns. I know, pretty bold

Let's just see what happens when they play an actual physical team. Purdue is good I will give them that, but they are untested against true strength of body and will. We have 2 revenge games in a row and on the road. I hope the boys are foaming at the mouth. The lights are getting bright now.
I’m sure both these games are circled.

Gut-wrenching loss to PSU and embarrassing futility vs Purdue.

They better be circled.

I like the way you think.
