PTL Draft - how many Iowa players get taken?

How many Hawkeyes get taken with the first 15 picks?

Remember, there are only 4 (SCRATCH THAT, 6) teams this year and only 2 players from last year's squad can be on the same team. Incoming recruits do not count for that total.

What are your thoughts?

I thought the whole point was so that all of the players would have an opportunity to play summer ball. I am going to say all of them... Regardless if you are right.. Randy Larson will not let this excitement pass when he can use it to build up the league again.

I started another thread w/ this link, but here it is again on this one explaining that at the tryouts the teams would be bumped back to 6.

Murphy and Moore shine at Prime Time league tryouts - The Daily Iowan
After a few intense minutes of inspirational pep talk, he released the news sealed behind his lips. He informed the group that the Prime Time League would increase the number of teams from four to the traditional six.
“I knew this league would not work with only four teams,” Prime Time coach Ron Nove said.
Though it might not seem like much, Larson’s words sparked hope in the players, who began to think their odds of landing a spot had increased.
Those hopes were dashed moments later.
Larson then notified the crowd that the NCAA-sanctioned league would include 13 Iowa players, 15 Northern Iowa players, 10 Upper Iowa players, five Kirkwood players, and six Division-I prospects — 49 spots filled.

So, just checking. You think all 13 Iowa players/recruits will get drafted in the first 15 spots? I don't think that's ever happened.

(By comparison, in 07 and 09, of the first 15 picks, 7 were current Hawkeyes or Hawkeye recruits)

What is the talk of cartwright not playing? just in ptl? will he not be on campus yet?

Article says there will be 13 Hawks playing the PTL. If you count the 3 walk-ons plus the scholarship guys, the Hawks have 14 on the roster. Ergo, somebody's not playing. Could be Cartwright since he got on board so close to the PTL draft. Could be a walk-on.

I am going with 6 and in the following order.
May, Cole, Gatens, Basabe, Payne and Marble Jr

From what I understand, Cartwright has to complete some online classes this summer. However, since they are online, I have yet to hear why he couldn't do them here and compete in the PTL. Anyone? Anyone?

I know this is a long shot, but if he were able to play, I think it would be cool to see Ryan Bowen out there playing with these kids all summer. I assume he will be in the Iowa City area anyway. Are there league rules saying that former-pros are ineligible in the PTL (I know it is NCAA sanctioned, so I would guess you have to be an amateur to play)?

G Ruck played after his stint with the Lakers. Many guys that had previously played in Europe have played in the PTL.

I hope that video was of the "bad" courts. That looked like a normal pickup game at the fieldhouse. If I hadn't blown my knee out just a couple of weeks ago I could have tried out on that court and fit in (though would not earn a spot, not many 5'10" C/PF needed). There are much better players there than were shown on that video.

Who in the h*ll is Khirley Floyd??? Says he is a current Iowa player. He is on L.L. Pelling with May, McCabe and Stokes (walk-on). And Andre Murphy?? He is on Culver's of Coralville. BTW, this is the team I take to win it all - Basabe, Koch, Moore, and Price
