I see we have another thread up on the PTL Championship from people who watched it on TV. I thought I'd start another one just for links of coverage and reactions from people who were there.
Here's a good write up by Brendan Stiles giving some final thoughts on the PTL season. Scott Dochterman of the Gazette had a similar post up recapping the PTL.
Dochterman spoke to Matt Gatens, who was at the championship, about playing the NBA waiting game.
Here are photos from the championship game from Iowa City Patch.
Any thoughts from people who were there? I thought Clemmons had a very good second half against Gesell, although that was partly because Clemmons got defensive help against Gesell whereas Gesell's team did not help him out as much, IMO. If nothing else, I think Iowa definitely has two legitimate point guards to play with, which is a very good thing.
Even though Clemmons took it to him in the second half, overall Gesell still had a pretty good game, and I love how he always has his head up looking for other players.
Basabe was both the "good" Basabe (monster on the boards, inside scoring, explosive like he was a freshman) and the "bad" Basabe (whining at refs, sometimes a black hole for the ball). White very quietly had a great game. May was impressive for the second straight game, especially on the break.
