PSU Franklin doesn't like fans input

The guy needs to take lessons from Alford. If you ever yelled at Alford, he might have looked up a few times, but he did a helluva job at acting like he didn't hear it. Never wanted to do it in IC because Alford had goons in the University would run people out of good seats if they yelled at him, but at the United Center and on the road, he didn't have those goons.
Alford was in a league of his own. I wish I knew half of the stories about him. Jon Miller has some of his dealings with him that are interesting too. Needless to say I'm glad that era is long past

I already knew @WinOneThisCentury wasn't one of your alts.

Oh, but that is only one of many alts that I have. Fooled ya. You are the King of Fake News!

I'd be perfectly happy if Franklin was mad enough that he decides to take his talents to the NFL as soon as possible.

Not to defend Franklin at all, but there's a lot of speculation about that last play call.

Basically, as fans we simply don't know what happened.

It's possible that McSorley simply made the wrong read on a read-option. If you watch the play, at the mesh point, a defensive lineman was almost right on top of him to his left, which, in a read-option, generally means that the DE didn't crash down the LOS. If that's the case, then the correct "call" is to go ahead with the handoff. If the DE crashes down, you keep the ball and either roll out to that side or drop back in the pocket.

The problem is, OSU ran a stunt, and brought Young to the inside (from the other side). Watch the play in slo mo. The OL didn't pick up the stunt well at all. The center should have picked up Young, but he went to the second level and picked up a LB. The LG picked up ..... nobody. The execution was terrible. OSU was expecting pass, and got lucky with the stunt and the (possible) misread on the option.

It's possible that Franklin is simply taking an arrow here, so as to avoid heat on McSorley. We'll probably never know.

Good point about their play call last year against the hawks but that was do or die, last second, have to get a TD situation.

But it was also do or die Saturday as they had to make it after using timeouts. Strange call.

And Franklin totally lost it when that fan said something to him and the fan was not cussing at him or doing anything bad.
Franklin pretty thin skinned there and needed to just keep walking. He makes over $5 million a year so with that salary comes all kinds of scrutiny and second guessing.

But these are two teams I do not like for obvious reasons. I used to like them as a football fan prior to the Sweater Vest/Meyer issues and Sandusky/Paterno shit pile.
Referring to Franklin's reaction, PSU's fanbase is nothing like Iowa's fanbase. I think someone inferred this as well. I'll leave it at that.

Sure was. Winningest coach in BTT history when he left. I don't think all of our coaches combined have as many as Alford did. The guy just had a knack for getting the team ready in March.

Alf was great in the first week of March. He was woeful in the second week of March.

I am doing this off memory, but this feels like the right answer. Mcsorley or Franklin mentioned the stunt in the post game presser. Rahne(PSU OC) took/taking a lot of heat for that call, but he may have got it right and McSorley(who was brilliant through out the game) just whiffed.

I am not a defender of everything James Franklin, that being said, I will give him credit for taking the bullet on this one.
