PSU and ISU schadenfreude

Are they wrong? It looks rough if MC is gone.

Campbell gave Iowa State 10 great years. Can’t be mad. But with the way college sports is now we are basically effed for next season (when 17 starters were set to return) and if we are being honest with ourselves this run with Campbell was as good as Iowa State can be.

Don’t know if we’ll go back to the cellar, but that’s a heck of a lot more likely than maintaining this level. Serious changes need to take place if Iowa State wants to be competitive even in the Big 12, and those changes won’t be made with pollard at the helm.

But you still have CyTown.

Unless they bulldoze it when no one shows up to buy a condo or use the Dr’s office.

Maybe they can play Andy Griffith reruns on Saturday afternoons in that big plaza thing. I thought I saw a big screen in one of the architectural drawings.

I had to google Jimmy Rogers, and look at his Wikipedia page because I didn’t know anything about him.

He jumped from SDSU to WSU after two years and from WSU to Iowa State in one year. If I were a Cyclone fan I'd be worried about another job hop if he has any success at all.
The banner on his hiring announcement post would seem to telegraph that they are too. "Welcome home" to a guy who was born in Arizona and never coached or lived in Iowa? Why not just write "Please don't leave us!" ;)

Hint - there will probably be a mass exodus.

I’ll be honest I’ve never been lower as an Iowa State fan.
You very well could be right. Players now are more loyal to their coach than university they represent. Maybe the word of the day should be............YIKES!!!!!!!! Cy fans probably have other words in mind!

Pollard is spinning it in the same way as the TJ Otzelberger hire…this isn’t a hire where you learn on the job, go out, get experience, and then we will talk. It sounds like Rogers copied the Otzelberger playbook, and I am hoping with much less success.:)

Just wait until after it gets inked, PSU will act like he was the guy they wanted all along.
I heard they had some lame excuse that they wanted to contact Campbell shortly after the Franklin firing, but the contact/message went array (?sp) and never got to Campbell. I call BS on that. No way they couldn't get to him and connect with him if they wanted him that bad early on. BS!

Campbell did say that he wasn't taking any coaching calls in season. This doesn't explain the BYU coach saga tho.

Not even saying this as an Iowa State hater, but their program just went back to the dark ages in less than 12 hours.

All their players and recruits are going to bolt, they have a no name coach with almost no experience and a .500 record in his ONE year in varsity football, and if you read about what’s going on with their AD completely mismanaging NIL (why Campbell is leaving ultimately)—they are cooked. Reports are that TJO is at huge odds with Pollard as well and will likely be leaving. If I were on the BOR I’d be looking to sell CyTown to the quickest bidder because it’s going to because that place is going to look like 2019 Detroit real quick.

I’m here for it. Too many years of listening to ISU dorks tell me their 7-5 seasons and 12 different uniforms each year are better than what Iowa has going on. The hubris was real and it’s time for a heaping helping of little brother.

Iowa might end up in the same place once KF leaves, but we lasted 46 years. And we didn’t get cocky and build a literal city next to our stadium thinking our coach was going to stay here ad infinitum and take us to the promised land.

They are nothing if not consumed with delusion.

Throw in he never addressed the team when he accepted. They found out via social media. Makes it hard not feel a little betrayed.
