i don't recall Fran playing Man to Man much , its not like Fran is telling these kid you have so n so to guard on down the lineup, White will guard whoever is in his zone to defend, and the matchup zone allows for a particular player to guard the other teams top player,
other than watching a few game i can tell by the way people jump me there are a few who never played or spent time around a BB court, anouthe good zone is the 1-3-1 that NW used on Iowa as their attempt to go man to man failed miserably
the most commonly used zones are the 3-2 zone or the 2-3 zone, do me a favor and go read up on BB philosphies before jumping me

did you watch the games? iowa played predominantly m2m in the halfcourt. they ran a 122 in the full court (more 3/4 court) and off timeouts and out of bounds plays would go to a 23 or 32 match up zone. i would bet in the halfcourt iowa played 70% m2m.

in the presser fran said he is looking at seniors and jucos for the scholly. he said he was looking for another wing.
