Interesting that when Mizzou is mentioned, no one mentions their BIG RIVALRY with Kansas. Its a MAJOR DEAL for them, it IS their TOP RIVAL, a rivalry in football that is only beat by Minnesota v Wisconsin in its games played/age. So, as I read in the Tribune that is may well be more that one team, this could make sense, and the BigTen would understand this and add three with the three being Mizzou, Kansas, and Nebraska. It would gut the Big12, and bring in three rivals and add balance and panache to the expanded Big Ten. Nebraska could be brought into the Big Ten by itself, and in the B12 North, there really isnt a big rival and the old key rival of the Big 8 ( Oklahoma )is the past, its a historical footnote from the 70s and 80s. But with Mizzou, you would need to accomodate with KU.
Cool thing, is the old Big 8 rivals maintain rivalries, Nebraska gains a instant one with IOWA, and can develop with Minnesota pretty easy. Mizzou has its rivalry with Illinois go over the top and adds an instant on with IOWA. Kansas mostly lives off the Big 8 ones, and sees what develops with others ( although, in BB, it is an instant rival in history and provenance with IU ), and with KSU, its has a little brother relationship with KSU.
My biggest concern with this is that the east division becomes a repeat of the Big 12 South.
