possible lineup this fall

I see a slow team
Gesell,Oglesby,Marble,White and Woody? Slow...how will it match up vs a Minny starting lineup of the two Hollins boys,Rod Williams,Trevor Mbakwe and Eliason? Not good.

Eliason is fast and good? No. We'll do alright against them

of course you have seen Gesell play how many times to determine he is slow and will get manhandled by BT guards, maybe in a 1 minute clip if you were luckly, and i think Burke did pretty good as a FR, and he was ranked coming out of HS as the 15th best PG, HMMM Gesell is rated the 15th best pg, Burke was # 94, HMMM Gesell is ranked #84th.
pretty much blows your getting manhandled theory out the window, as for being slow he is far from it, there are people who actually watched him play and have a far different opinion.
the media people out in Arizona compare him to Mike Bibby, people out in SC feel he is better than Hinrich was coming out of HS, that's some pretty solid comparisons.
and you know what, Iowa beat Minnesota twice with less talent against that superior speed of Minnesota,
hate to tell you but speed on a BB court is over rated. and White on many occasions beat those speed demon down the court for easy layups or dunks.
take off the blinders and watch these kids they are not slow.

as for Gabe i still am waiting for people to prove i said he would avg a DBL DBL. all you have to do is find my post and post it to prove i said he would.
OH SNAP! you can't because i never said he would

I hope Woodbury is ready to go right away but I wont be shocked if he isnt. Woodbury is the #7 Center and #42 overall player in his class per Rivals.

Meyers Leonard was the #6 Center and #31 overall in his class per Rivals.
He averaged 2.1 Points per Game and 1.2 Rebounds per game as a true freshman.

Here are the stats from the Top 10 Centers of last years class (would have just finished their true freshman seasons):

1- Norvel Pelle- Ineligible
2- Rakeen Christmas (Syracuse)- 2.8 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 0.8 BPG 11.5 minutes
3- Adjehi Baru (Charleston)- 7.8 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 0.7 BPG 26.7 minutes
4- Johnny O'Bryant (LSU)- 8.5 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 0.8 BPG 21.4 minutes
5- Chandler- Rivals had UCF commit, could not find stats for him
6- Tyler Adams (Georgetown)- 2.5 PPG, 2.3 RPG, 0.8 BPG 6 minutes
7- Wally Kouassi (Auburn)- 1.5 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 0.6 BPG 10.2 minutes
8- Zach Price (Louisville)- 0.6 PPG, 0.8 RPG, 0.2 BPG 4.3 minutes
9- Angelo Chol (Arizona)- 2.8 PPG, 2.3 RPG, 0.8 BPG 12.1 minutes
10- Amir Williams (Ohio State)- 1.7 PPG, 2.2 RPG, 0.8 BPG 6.7 minutes

the thing about comparing what other players do has more to do with who is playing ahead of them.
#3 and 4 did pretty good as they had nobody in front of them, the rest had established players in front of them. especially Amir Williams for OSU, do you really think he was going to take minutes away from Sullinger.
i could expect Woodbury having stats like #3 and #4 and consider it a good Freshman season

I am curious to know what Woodburys vertical jump is. He doesnt look like he comes very far off the ground.
Probably doesn't matter. Go back and watch Acie Earl. I would guess that Acie was less than a few inches off the ground on a majority of his blocked shots.

I see White as a 3 and Marble as a guard

Marble needs to spend all summer shooting ... with his skills he could be all american if he develops a better stroke
White can play the 3 in small stretches. But he will play a majority of his minutes at PF, because he creates so many problems for opponents at that position and he is probably our best rebounder.

Shot blocking has more to do with timing and anticipation than it does with vertical leap. Woody will block plenty of shots in his career.

Why should they herby? People ask for links from you all the time to prove the bullsh!t that comes out of your mouth and you never provide them.

The 4-5 blocks a game prediction was my favorite. Davis the All-American from Kentucky averaged 4.6 this year.

I forgot old herby used to be a Dragon first......

I also recall old Dragon being p!ssed off if anyone suggested that Woodbury would come in and start over his Gabe.....they were just "star gazers" They are disrespecting Gabe, saying a FR will come in and start over him.....Classic stuff....

Special shout out to hawkIhoops as well for his first post in that thread.

Wood bury is nowhere near being "raw". He has a lot of developed skills. "Raw" is what you attach to a player like Gabe Olaseni.
