These are the guys I would like to see us get.
Iowa has to be a better offer than Oregon State.
He's a west coast Cali kid going back closer to home. I can see why Duke was an odd fit for him. May have ties to coaches from Oregon st who originally recruited him some. Hard to say. From a geographic standpoint Iowa would definitely be closer to home then Duke. Unfortunately not close enough I'm guessing for any real consideration.
I'm sure him choosing Duke had him thinking that didn't matter. But then after being away a yr that can change. Hard to say maybe none of that mattered. I haven't a clue.

Guessing it's roster spot cuts, so they're prob being selective.

The Hawkeyes have 131 players on their active roster as the 2024 season approaches. They will need to be down to 105 at this time next year. The path to reach that number — a decrease of 26 players or roughly 20 percent of the roster - almost inevitably will involve
some difficult decisions.
With that being said shouldn’t it in theory be easier for teams like Iowa to pick up the blue blood teams OSU/Alabama that have to thin out their roster? Seems like there should be more quality guys entering the portal from the upper tier teams than we’ve seen.

Our recruitment record has been solid. Look at the data rather than just mindless posts. QB recruits have been poor, I will admit. Solve that, Iowa. Now.

So far, Iowa has only two portal transfers out of 7/8 serious targets. That is mild activity, to say the least.
The gets are:
Hank Brown - QB from Auburn
Jonah Pace - Defensive lineman from Central Michigan.

The flip side of this whole transfer portal thing is, there is going to be a load of these guys getting dumped right back into the portal at the end of spring ball.

Im ok with limited offers if we feel we have B10 ready talent in the wings.
Not OK with passively standing pat...and then playing the 'young & inexperienced' card in the fall. (see OL '22 and '23)
