Portal / roster thread 24/25

Saw Anterio Thompson is transferring to Washington. Did he burn a bridge with Iowa when he left us cause aren't we looking for a DT? Him coming back seemed like a great idea to me unless I'm missing something.
 
OK, here's a question: is it possible to enter the transfer portal, commit verbally to a school, then if that team brings in someone better than you, to re-enter the portal during the same portal time window? I'm thinking of the Auburn QB, and what he would think if Iowa brought in the Penn St. QB, for example.

Don’t need the portal. You can transfer anytime you want. If he gets nervous that Iowa’s is bringing in too many QBs all he has to do is put his name out there and see who bites

Absolutely. It's about enrolling for classes too. These kids aren't signing LOIs like they do coming out of HS. They just tell coaches where they want to go, enroll for classes and go. Kids can enroll and leave again at anytime. So within the portal they sure can do that I would think.

I have to hope that Tim and Kirk explained "we're going after 2 starting QBs" or something like that so that he's not surprised. They're pretty good at managing expectations and being transparent from what I've heard.

I wonder about that too.
I mean, the whole Proctor sitch.

But, I do wonder if they actually come. And then someone else comes. I suppose they can just sit? And not use that year of eligibility? And head back into the portal.

we're used to seeing one guy who can start and a bunch of underlings.

Believe it or not we had 3 QBs that had cups of coffee in the NFL or more at the same time way back when Rudock, CJB and Nic Shimonek were there. 2013 may as well have been a lifetime ago though.
