Pizza in Chicago (Aurelio's)

The hotel we'll be stayin @ has an Aurelio's Pizza adjoining it. Anybody dined there? I think they have about 40 or so places and kinda wanted to know how they rank as far as pizza goes. Looks like they've won some awards and have been in bizzness since '59.

I've heard of Lou Malnati's, Home run, Pizzeria UNO's, etc. Generally I like thin 'New York' style pies and find the thick 'Chicago' style too doughy.

How would some of ya rank the Pie joints in the Chitown

Giodornos is the correct spelling. And they have terrific cheese cake

Aurelio's very solid, use to get it in Denver - one of my favorite's. I'm sure there are better, but you should be happy.

It's some of the best thin crust you'll find in the Chicagoland area.

It's my family's favorite pizza place around.

With that said, if you desire something thicker you should go with Gino's, Giordano's, or Lou Malnati's. I wouldn't order the thick crust/deep dish pizza at Aurelio's, as their forte is thin crust.

I know exactly what hotel you are staying at.. drive past it daily.. kiddie corner from the new big post office.. and right by the original post office.

I'll check again, but recently that Aurelio's was closed (Perhaps due to a remodel??)

If you are driving around the north side by skokie there is a Graziano's with very good food and pizza, cooked in brick ovens.

If you want large NY style go to Bacci's Pizza in Wriglyville is good and cheap.
