Pizza in Chicago (Aurelio's)

I dined in at a dominos carry out facilility in Chicago a few years back. Other than being drunk and having to sit on the floor, I remember the pizza being pretty decent.

This thread is the very embodiment of that old saying about opinions and azzholes.

One guy loves Lou Malnati's, and one guy says it's "touristy" (whatever the fk that means).
One guy makes a blanket declarative statement about an entire genre of pizza and it's relative worth.

You think a white car looks good; the other guy says white is horsesh!t, and only a black car is teh kewl. Then there's the guy with the blue car...

So far e11en is the only one I agree with.

So tell me, pilgrim, where will you dine during your Big Weekend in Chicago?

"Boy golly, this sure is a big place! Why, Grimes would fit neatly inside the River North neighborhood! Good thing I was into scouting and know how to read a compass."

THIS IS THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE FOR CHICAGO PIZZA

My qualifications are: Chicago native and Pizzaholic!

Stuffed: 1. The Art of Pizza (3033 N Ashland)
2. Giordano's (their thin is also a good bet)
3. Pequod's
4 (touristy kind) Lou Malnati's and/or Uno's/Due's

Unique: Chicago Pizza and OvenGrinder (long wait if you get there past 6PM)(awesome salads too) 2121 N Clark

Thin: 1. CoalFire (1321 W Grand)
2. Piece (1900ish w north ave)
3. Great Lake (andersonville somewhere off the beaten path (quirky rules be there at 5PM Friday)

I have to agree here! Piece is my go to spot because of there great beer selection as well. They brew a lot of great beers and always have great guest beers on tap as well.

If you want something in the neighborhood near Soldier, hit up Flo & Santos. Neighborhood spot with excellent thin crust and another good beer list.

I live in South Loop and was thinking of putting something together for Friday night at one of the local bars. Let me know who is interested?

Had me some Malnati's a few years back and had me some Gino's this past weekend - both good shiat. Grabbed me an italian beef sammie at Soldier Sat night that was pretty tasty as well. It was a gooood weekend in the Windy City.

I miss the southern folks, cheap land, little to no commute, and better schools for my kids. I don't miss the humid summers.

July was grossly humid. August started out that way, but the pattern of late has been very pleasant. Wife and I even dined outside yesterday evening, it was so nice.

I don't think "The South" and "Better schools" go together ever.. unless you make a sentence like "I left the South to send my kids to better schools".

Careful, Churl, lest one of us Southerners posts a few factoids about le Chicago school system...;)
