Correct. If Fran or any other coaches show up its becomes a violation, but I also thought that it couldnt be advertised as well...There will be no coaches present. It will be far less structured than a PTL game.

The bolded makes the PTL more structured than these pick-up games.Um...have you been to a PTL game? They are basically pickup games with some refs calling a few fouls, timeouts & substitutions. I was hoping, and would hope for far more leadership & thus far more structure than most all of the PTL games.
No coaches need be present to have a structured scrimmage. Not at this level. Not if you have leaders on your team (I.e. Gatens & Cartwright). This practice scrimmage should show just how developed and adapted to Fran's system our Hawkeyes are. Much more so than a pickup game at the Fieldhouse or a PTL game with random players and zero coaching (sorry, I don't count the wannabe coaching)...

Again, you haven't been to a PTL game have you?
Just because the PTL isn't very structured doesn't make this pickup game more structured.
People call the PTL "glorified pickup". And it is.
This is straight pickup. By definition, it's a lower level of structure.
I went to a few of these scrimmages last year. No structure. No clock. No scoreboard. Full court to 21 I believe. Lots of isolation and pick-and-rolls. Pretty much the definition of pick-up. So, as I said in my previous post...the refs, timeouts, substitions, etc make the PTL MUCH more structured than these scrimmages. Frankly, that fact that you're arguing about the structure of something you, admittedly, have never seen is a little ridiculous.Again, you haven't been to a PTL game have you?
