Phillip Miller Game Tape

His size will be a problem in the Big 10. He still needs to get a qualifying test score too. I would personally rather take someone who we know is going to make it to school. Just my opinion though.

Positives- Shows some good passing ability, looks like a good FT shooter, has a semi decent stroke( he is shooting around 60% from three), active hands, and his team presses and Traps A LOT.

Negative- His team presses and traps A LOT,( he reaches a lot) could use some work on handles, and sometimes pulls the trigger too soon.

Overall- A decent player. He's not scared to take the shot and is not scared to play defense. He was kinda all over the place, playing guard and even inside. I could see him learning behind cartwright for a year and maybe becoming a good 1-2 guard player.

He reminds me a lot of Jake Kelly.

He is about 6-1/6-2 and about 180. He will defiantly be able to put on some muscle in his first couple summers.

As far as he not qualifying, he just took his ACT yesterday and we should know his scores soon. IIRC Cartwright didnt get to campus till like a week or two before class started.

Well he's a possibility thats for sure but that test score is critical.

How long will it take to get scores back? Seems like Fran doesn't want to offer until he has qualified. I don't know if we can afford to wait 4-6 weeks to get our PG's.

I believe thats the time frame to get scores back. No fans want to wait, but when its all said in done if we dont get carter, glover, jackson, or anyone else, then he may be our last resort and he's not a bad last resort if he's able to get admitted.

Since when is 60% from three a "pretty decent stroke". That's like a record or something.

Thanks!!! Fran is going to have to take a chance with some of these guys and pray that they work out. Phillip miller sounds like a complete leap of faith recruit. Great player on paper, struggles in the classroom, no other offers, but if he comes here and lights up the big ten then Fran = #winning. If not, we screwed. We need some of these guys to come in and work out or we'll continue to tread water in mediocrity or worse for a while.

I wouldnt say he struggles in the classroom. He has not qualified because he just took his ACT yesterday.

Agree. These message board legend players that haven't qualified are wild cards at best. If you can get them, if they stay eligible, if they don't transfer the first time they miss some PT because of missing class or a bad grade. No sure bets, but I agree he is probably a better fit for a program that is a bit more liberal with their academic standards.

I am sorry to hi-jack this thread, but I never understand watching videos of recruits that come from large schools from big states like Texas or California, and the crowd is completely empty. My high school had larger crowds and I played at a 1a school in Iowa. This kid's videos are that way and so was the video of a tiny pg from Mater Dei in California that I saw a few months ago. I just don't get it.

Remember when Diebler from OSU shot like 94% in a game this year?

Was it 60% for the game, or for the season? I think that is where the confusion comes in.

Also, isn't Carter the team that beat Permian in Friday Night Lights. I think so. they have a ton of athletes at that school.
