Not surprised...however I do hope that he gets a chance. His poor showing at the combine really hurt him..in my opinion. Best of luck to him whether it be over seas or the G-league.
 
I watched him in the Combine and he seemed lost and in over his head. He has the best shooting touch I've seen and if he can pick it up a little he might have a chance. Not surprised he didn't get selected.
 
It was nice the point guard from Iowa State got drafted. It surprised me there were a couple of other point guards from his conference drafted ahead of him.
 
Jok is a great player no doubt. The problem is, he's a great shooter. Great shooters are a dime a dozen. His defense is suspect and his handle is average. Still a great player, don't get me wrong, but in the league you gotta have more than that.

I suspect he will have a long successful overseas career and make more money than I ever will. Now go prove me wrong young fella.:)
 
Jok focused on his defense at the combine rather than shooting in order to try to raise his stock. Unfortunately when he shot it wasn't a good showing. While I'm not convinced he will ever play defense well enough to get a lot of minutes in any pro league if he can find a team that plays great team defense he might end up making a good living. In any event what he has gone through in his life has proven him to be mentally tough and you never know.
 
I'm still of the mindset the Thunder is where he should have tried to go... They have a glaring need for a spot up shooter off the bench... The Suns are young and not very good... Makes no sense to go there. They have that Booker who is just a way better more athletic version of what he is. I doubt he'll make the Suns roster either..
It's the same reason I was critical of LeShun Daniels going to the Pats. He has zero chance of making the roster. They'd need AIRBHG to show up for him to have a shot. Go some place with depth issues at your position giving yourself a chance at least...

Outside of Booker the Suns do need shooters. They lost Brandon Knight for the season and have only rookie Davon Reed playing behind Booker. It's a good spot for Peter and I suspect he'll make the roster. We'll see how long he stays.
 
Peter's chances of making the Suns roster just shot up. Devon Reed the rookie on a guaranteed contract just had meniscus surgery and will be out until at least January. That opens up another roster spot with some playing time. Excellent opportunity for him to make the roster if he stays healthy.

He was awesome. He's even a little better on defense. Not a ton, but a little. This game was a ghost town. I don't think they advertised Peter Jok's return to the Hawkeye state well enough. There couldn't have been more than 300 people. I know there would have been more hawk faithful had more known.
 
I just realized Uthoff isn't in the G-league anymore. Looks like he's playing in Russia now. I don't see Adam Woodbury on the Westchester g-league roster either, but can't find if its injury related or if he was released.

Wonder if Jok is the last of the Iowans to be in the G-league?

Well if some of the posters on here are right about our talent level we should have another wave of players to infuse back into the G league.
 
Jok comes back to town on December 1. Just might go to see that one. Something to get me out of the house in the Winter.....

Gonna have to check the roster before the game to see if he will make the trip. One would think that he would have friends/family from the DM area to pay their respects.....
