Yeah, no quick strikes at Iowa. Like numerous times Stanzi going deep to Brodell, DJK or McNutt. Like JVB going deep to KD against MSU. JVB in the 4th quarter of the 2011 Pitt game.

We get it. You know your football, we're just idiots who love our ultra-conservative coach.
I really doubt that was KF making those calls...

Oh, yeah, it must have been KOK. KF only makes the "bad" calls.

Are you a certified/bona fide/registered idiot?

Either he is the Head Coach or he is not. You can't say "ultra-conservative" and "no quick strikes", then give credit elsewhere when your lame posts are discredited. Or at least you SHOULDN'T.

For you? Seems to be the m.o.

Do you remember KF was crying as he came off the field after the Pitt game? That days after the Pitt game in a press conference a reporter asked KF if Iowa would use more hurry-up offense and KF said hurry-up didn't fit into the scheme at Iowa? That JVB came from a high school offense that was hurry-up at, I believe, Ft. Madison?

Not only that, but every pass play called has multiple routes run, in which the QB reads the D and makes the decision on which WR to throw to.

Some people are so idiotic it is incredible. KF doesn't call the plays either way, good or bad ones for that matter. That is what a OC does.

I don't remember him crying. Emotional, yes. Crying, no.

And what does it matter what he said at a press conference? Maybe, at the time, "hurry up" DIDN'T fit the scheme as a play-in/play-out offense.

And Mr. Football, JVB went to Keokuk. And that was high school.

(1) We didn't see Iowa use hurry-up for the rest of that 2011 season (never again, for that matter. (2) I stand corrected, if it was Keokuk. (3) I inferred with the show of emotions by the stoic KF, by the reasons of (1), and KF's answer to the reporter in the press conference who asked about more hurry-up that hurry-up was done outside of KF's wishes. Who else could have suggested hurry-up? Norm?

Yes, I'm sure it was Norm. Had to be.

Come to think of it, wasn't the Pitt game also the game where KF (on camera) called over all the defensive lineman while they were on the sideline and gave them a good *** chewing? KF had a meltdown that game. Or maybe some of his coaches began to mutiny?

Yeah, that really was foolish not to at least incoporate it at some level in the offense. I mean, that was JVB's strength. Waching JVB in the second half of that Pitt game was the most fun I had watching a kf offense.

If you think that getting JV up to the line quicker, to run more plays, and get 3 and out faster would have been a good thing, I have to question your football knowledge. You do go up tempo with a terrible offense.

I submit he wouldn't HAVE a Saturday job without the rest of the week and what it entails.

Again, this crap of "game day coach" is ludicrous.

I don't think I'd go that far. At Iowa he's a career 7-5 coach despite being in or near the top 10 in players sent to the NFL...whether it's his stubbornness to stick to his conservative game plan, his ineffectiveness at managing timeouts, or misunderstanding the dynamics of getting the ball last to end the half (after you've elected to receive to start the game), his Sun-Fri prowess belies his noticeable shortcomings on Saturdays.

Or Iowa could slow the game up as much as possible walk up to the line yell "Run play or 3 yard pass play on two".

I understand that if things arent working in a hurry up offense you have to stop but Iowa has to try to make the defense a little uncomfortable.

I would normally agree with this, and I will agree with this for the upcoming year, if it looks like the offense actually has a pulse. I still think with how atrocious our O was last year, speeding it up would have been just idiotic.

Is is possible that going hurry up would get them into a better rhythm. If not you can always switch back. My thought is its idiotic to do the same thing over and over when its "atrocious".

Come on. I think you knew I was referring to the 2011 season.
