Indiana. For certain.
One of MSU's final possessions, there were three missed fouls. Indiana also stepped on OoB line. Then they call MSU for travel after being mauled. That was a 2 pt game and it sealed it for Indiana pretty much.

Hand checking and physical play almost destroyed the NBA. After the NBA eliminated it it baecame once more... a "much more" beautiful game.

The NCAA really needs to outlaw hand checking. It's not good defense.. it's grabbing your opponent. It will take a year or 2 for the players and coaches to adjust and college BB will again return to being a beautiful game.

The NCAA also needs to end flopping. First extend the flopping line another foot or two. In addition to that... the defensive player should not be allowed to establish position in the open court without the offensive player being allowed to take a step and a half.

Finally, for now, offensive goal tending should be eliminated. There are way too many tip backs with the ball on the basketball rim anyway. Allow the offensive player to attack the basket where ever the ball is. A much better game and take it away for the ref to make a bad call..

Just a couple of changes that would be great.

btw for you who watch, coach, have kids in HS BB, how much is hand checking allowed?

That game was awful. They let reach-ins go the entire game, for both teams. One of the most boring basketball games I'd ever watched.

I think the Big-10 thinks that when people talk about the physicality of the old days, they think people actually enjoy watching reach-ins and hand checks, which leads to awful shooting, turnovers and bad basketball.

What people really like is, **** like intensity, a hard foul in the paint not called a flagrant, stare downs and near shoving matches, etc

Not disagreeing on that, but did you see Izzo corral the official and actually stop the game when IU had an 11 point lead, I believe?

MSU had five straight possessions going to the FT line and IU was called for a charge on another during that stretch.

MSU was able to get back in the game during that stretch cutting the lead to 3.

The officiating is just not consistent, if Iowa gets hosed on the road from officials, but gets the majority of calls at home then at least it is consistent.

Izzo is a smart and crafty coach, for sure.
I don't like how refs allow his players to mug on D.
 






Hey just because I'm curious and my previous post is now buried...

How much hand checking is allowed in HS BB? Not only in Iowa but anywhere. Along with that is hand checking allowed in AAU ball? I realize not much D in AAU ball but I know that there are some posters on this site who follow the HS and AAU game.

Anyone?

Wouldn't players that a floppers be considered floppers because they actually draw charges?

He executes flopping poorly as he does defense in general.

Case in point, not contesting the final Purdue basket in regulation yesterday when he was inserted and Olaseni was removed.
