Other Site in Complete Meltdown Mode

Not going to get into details but the other Hawkeye site - not Howe's- is in complete meltdown mode due to two admins that are proving more inept by the day.
One earler this week jumps the gun on reporting news about Horner and gets his butt chewed by the new basketball staff.
Now the head administrator is making strong claims that make Barta look very bad because he has gotten way way too close to two of the incoming recruits and their families.
The head administrator has no clue how to draw the line between being a journalist and getting in bed with recruits and their families and should lose his job for it.
The other admin is just incompetant period for a long list of reasons.
Jon it's makes me appreciate your site so much more.
 
I have thought all along that Iowa should not release Larson and Brust to other conference schools. Just not cool for them to come back and beat on Iowa. Pearl did not even release Tyler Smith to anyone and Smith had to go to Hargrave Academy for a year. That was tough, Iowa should just tell those guys that conference schools are not acceptable. That still leaves 340 schools to choose from.
 
I'm not taking sides on what should be right or wrong about what's done with the two recruits.
My point here is very sloppy and incompetant journalism by two people over there who are supposed to be professionals and unbiased.
It's a well known fact that the head administrator over there has been in bed so to speak with two of the current recruits and their families and feels like he needs to be their mouthpiece.
Additionally, he is spreading rumors about Payne maybe leaving also as he's getting this info from Brust's family.
These two administrators over there were going to feel the heat at some point with their tactics so now its enjoyable seeing them taking much heat from their own site subscribers.

Care to expound? I don't read HR.com (I take it that is the site you are referring too) not because of Tom, but because of the ilk that posts on those boards.
You are making quite an accusation...follow through, I'm interested.

I am making quite the accuation when you seem to be doing the same with those that post there? Nice try.
Go read yourself if you're interested. I have been a member of that site for two years and have posted a very small amount of times there. I will be bailing there soon altogether for this site but today or tomorrow I wont because it's just too much fun right now watching things unfold over there.

I'm guessing Jon would be interested in hearing this also.
Did Jon ever run with one side of a story without checking at all with the other?

Complete melt down is a bit of an exageration. I'm in the lounge everyday and I don't even notice what your talkin about? One of the adm. tweeted a story that seems to be false and there is some threads about it, I'm just not seein the melt down?

I was thinking the same thing actually.

While that relationship has been blown out of proportion to extremes on the boards (people thinking I had Jeff on speed dial where I made fewer than 5 outbound calls to him in four years that were not instances returning his calls..and ask any media member about the volume of calls he would make..I was not alone on that front), I certainly was fond of the Chicago kids, and really liked Jake a lot. And it clouded my judgement of the situation. that's a lesson learned and one that I am not going to repeat. As it relates to HR and this instance, I haven't read all of the posts, and I don't know what Tom knows.

He's giving his opinions on the matter, and I respect anyone that is willing to post opinions that are not song and dance...it then comes down to motive..which as the poster I quoted above mentioned with me, I had to honestly question my motives after a while...and found that I hadn't separated my personal feelings from objective observations.

I am not saying that is what is going on here with Tom, because I don't know what he knows. But I felt that the Jake thing was fair to insert, and was going to actually post that in advance of anyone else doing it until I had gotten down to that post in this thread
