Purdue beat Illinois last night which I'm ok with. Mostly because I hate Illinois but also because, if we're going to feast of the bottom half of the conference, it'd be nice if they weren't that bad.

Purdue actually had a pulse in that game which really surprised me. Hammonds looks decent inside for being a freshman. If they can get solid guard play like they did last night they can surprise some people. Hell they surprised me last night. But Byrd has to be consistent on both ends of the floor.

On the flip side, I was on the Illinois bandwagon and I think this might be a good time to jump off. They need Paul to shoot every other time down the court to be successful. He was nonexistent until about 2 minutes left and by then it was too late to catch up.
