Other B1G games ...

PSU s a tough whole team match up. Purdue cant exploit much.
Think of how good they would be if Tony Carr were still there for his senior year.

Of course in this day and age you could say that about a lot of teams, Michigan and Michigan State being prime examples, Purdue another. Indiana loses Romeo Langford and others.

What an enjoyable night of B1G basketball that was.

I didn't have any high school games to go to and didn't have to stress out watching Iowa play, so got to watch last night strictly for leisure.

Two games going down to the wire. Nebraska nearly pulled off a huge upset. Illinois and MSU went back and forth the last five minutes. Great chess match between Izzo and Underwood.

The injury to Dosunmu looked bad. I thought Illinois would come back to the pack during this 5 game stretch as I’ve posted more than once. It’s looking like 0-5 with road games at Rutgers and Penn State without their leading scorer.

Side Note - ESPN projects 11 Big 10 teams in the NCAA as of yesterday.

Now if only Penn State would come back to the pack.

They're on a serious roll. Home, road, doesn't matter. Of course so was Illinois before they came into Carver.

I fully expect for Indiana to stop their losing streak — for one game

And Minnesota to beat Iowa on a couple of late baskets (a banked 25’ to win) and lose at home to Indiana, lose at NW, and play Maryland tight but lose on an open 8’ shot.

I’ve been trained for this.

There's only 2 games separating 3rd place from 12th place....that's just insane. If we can split the 4 road games and hold serve at home, that gets us to 13-7 which, depending on tie breakers, could get us the double bye. If, however, we get swept on the road and drop one home game, that puts us at 10-10 which might only be good enough for 9th place. That's how close it is right now.

If Brad Davison truly cost Wisconsin the Iowa game with his flagrant, as Connor claims he did, who knows how many spots that may cost Wisconsin in the final standings. And if it will be the difference between a bye and a double byein the conference torunament.

Figuring out potential tie breakers is going to be insane if some teams don't separate here soon. Northwestern and Nebraska, the bottom two teams in the league, nearly jumbled things up even more this week.

So it looks like if we somehow win tomorrow we will be tied for 3rd place. Of course if we lose, we will be fighting to not play on Wednesday of the conference tournament.

Teams only shoot for 50% from 3's when they play Iowa.

No, kidding. I was at a function with my wife. When I pulled up the score on my phone down 15 in the second half, the first thing I checked after that was Indiana's high scorer and their 3-point shooting percentage. The results were NOT a shock (non-starter going off, shooting over 50% at the time).

I didn't realize this game was even being played today, but Maryland won at Michigan St. This is MSU's second home loss. They were down big in the first half, but then roared back to gain a 7-pt lead with 3 minutes to go, but Maryland dominated late and won by 5.

Actually, win or lose, Hawks will play Thursday.

Look, Iowa is NOT going to lose out. They’ll definitely beat Purdue at home. That alone gets them the 10 seed. I still think they win 1 more between O-Suck and Minny (maybe both) and that would push them to the 7 (or 6) seed.

I find myself calming down a bit over the loss of CJ. It definitely hurts but, remember, they crushed Maryland without him and he scored 0 in a 3-point loss to PSU (of course, they also lost at Nebraska).

Not trying to go Clinton, here but IF JoeW can find his Mo, Kriener / JoeT / C-Mac can just be solid, get basic competence from Pemsl and Evelyn and just a bit of luck that the other team has an off night (I know, that’s all a tall order for Iowa) they could very well win all 3 and maybe steal another (please let it be Pud State!)

Back to reality... win or lose tomorrow really makes little diff for the BTT. A W would go a long way to help NCAA seeding (not to mention, boost confidence down the stretch).

That is a lot of IFs my friend. But I agree with you 100%

The biggest (most important I mean) IF is JoeW becoming an alpha.

JoeT has to play better defense, break down defenses and kick it out (has happened very little lately).

Kreiner and Pemsl have to stop bone-headed plays and value the ball.

Connor is going to have to shoot and make outside shots to keep Garza clean.

Fran is actually going to have to use his timeouts during a game to rest his starters to rotate Garza and JoeW out before media timeouts. They will have to play 33-36 minutes a game for any chance. Connor near that number as well.

Maryland and Penn State getting separation.

One game in loss column separating 3rd from 12th. That is insane.

And there’s some fool in here saying this title was easier to take because there isn’t 2-3 dominant teams and was there for the taking (so of course he bashes an Iowa HC, Fran, and his son)

Fool's Gold?

How big is our home win against Maryland looking now? And how often do teams stroll into Breslin and finish games on 14-0 runs?
