Sounds like if Tennessee offers, he's gone. If we can't keep a 2nd tier recruit from Iowa that lives 30 minutes away then this staff has some serious issues. Recruiting is not going well right now and this would be a huge blow at this point. If Washpun doesn't want to play for Iowa what are others going to think?
This is frustrating because this staff has had ALL season to recruit for next year, not 2 months like last season. I understand Cartwright came in May but when you have had all year to recruit you shouldn't have to scramble to find a point guard in May AGAIN! I'm not shocked he'd choose Tennessee but Fran is really struggling with recruiting right now.

Thanks for bringing that up. At that time we lost Caesar to Oklahoma State and still didn't have Woodbury or Gesell. It wasn't looking good. In hindsight, looks like it worked out for all sides. Iowa now has a great PG recruit in Gesell and maybe a steal in Clemmons. Wes is quick and a defensive guard. Had Clemmons not committed, Wes may be a Hawkeye.
Locking up a scholarship for 4 years so that he could play Branden Stubbs 39 minutes - total! - this season?!? I don't think so. Clemmons>Washpun, and that's what it really comes down to.
marble developed just fine. tying up a schollie for 4 years to play 2 min per game this year is asnine.[/QUOTE
he would have played more then 2 minutes this year, but like i already said we dont need him anymore

Let him go suit up for Kirkwood ; he might see the court there !
Reading comprehension problem?
1. i said in the original post iowa shouldnt touch him now (because of gessell/clemmons)
2. you realize that iowa didnt have a scholarship point guard when bryce was hurt this season? just saying he would have helped
Come on do we really need to bust Ryno's chops for this? I remember I was pretty disappointed to see yet another D1 recruit out of Cedar Rapids commit somewhere else, wondering when the bleeding would ever stop. It is ok for us to be wrong once in a while after all this is just a forum and hind sight is always 20/20. Plus this kid is young, who's to say he will not catch on somewhere else and have a good collegiate career.
I think we dodged one there. People were saying he wasn't not a B1G player and by what I saw this year, this seems correct.
Too small, and too limited offensively.
