Anytime you are up 11 with about 4 minutes left in the first half and lose that game, there is some ******* going on. Granted, it wasnt just self-destruction on our end and Purdue played much better as the game went on.

Both, which is what I said what happened against Purdue on Tuesday night. It doesnt have to be just one or the other.

Iowa started to play much better right before half against Minnesota and they had absolutely no idea how to attack our zone.

C'mon, a 4 possession game on the road with over 24 minutes to play vs 12 point favorites and you think the Hawks let it get away?

Now, I agree that IU blowing an 11 point lead with under 6 minutes to go in the game vs underdog Huskers is not good.
But 24 minutes is an eternity in a bb game,especially on the road vs a team that has good shooters from the arc.

Crean's play with 15 seconds left out of their timeout down one was not great. They ended up with the 5'11'' Hulls going to the basket vs several big Huskers for the game-winner...ouch... I like Fran's playcalling much better.

Its not just that. Its the amount of missed free throws we had in the 1st half that could have made that lead 14-16 points.

Iowa was controllling that game for the first 16 minutes and if Purdue doesnt get that 30-9 run jump started right before half, we win that game.

Props to Painter for putting Jackson back in before half with 2 fouls.

This is true, that lead should have been much bigger had they hit a few of those free throws in the first half. Instead Purdue went into the half with some momentum that carried over into the 2nd half.

No doubt it made a difference how the first half ended. Similar to Minnesota leading Iowa by 11 late in the first half at Minny, Iowa scores the last 10 points of the half to trail by 1 at halftime.

It's darn next to impossible to just pound a team into submission on the road if they have a pulse. OSU did it to us, but they have elite-level talent.

As a Marquette grad I have been telling anyone who will listen that Tom Crean is an average coach. Good recruiter but average coach. Without D. Wade, Crean wouldn't be at Indiana right now.

I agree. I've never thought Crean was worth a damn. I actually thought I was wrong earlier this year. Not to mention that he looks like an idiot on the sidelines.

Which brings us back to the OP...

Indiana beat Kentucky and OSU.

I pointed this out is one of my past responses to a basketball topic. Indiana is unproven, yes the beat Kentuck and OSU, but Osu this year is not OSU last year. Indiana is not a top 20 team. Sometimes teams get on a roll and play over their heads, George Mason, anyone. Now Indian has some what been figured out, and wins will be tough to come by for them. Not to say they are a terrible team, but more of a middle of the pack B1G team is realistic, heck NW be MSU. This league is a tough league to get a road win in this year. You watch next time Iowa gets MSU at home we will win or it will be a close game.
