Osu

I don't see how this is relevant to Iowa football unless we play in the B1G CG. :)
The only way is if the Fant family latches on to this and convinces Noah that he is risking his payday.

I could see them trying to convince him to skip the bowl game (whether Noah would listen or even take them seriously is a different story)

It going to come down to two things--paying NCAA athletes in the revenue sports or offering the insurance policies to younger players.

Noah Fant’s last regular season Iowa football game will be on 11-23-18. Book it, write it down, bet me.

10:1 he skips the bowl game. Put your money down now before the odds get worse.

No way.
I would say he's a late first maybe early second round.
How many teams are going to use a high pick for a te? Maybe 1 or 2. He needs every game he can get to raise his stock. The difference between early 2nd round and mid first round is huge.

The options are what they are for these guys... I can't even say for sure what I'd do if I were a guy like him or Fant. Your sitting on a lottery ticket if you don't get hurt. Only one way to guarantee that.. Well hell it's not even guaranteeing it. They can still get hurt training without playing football it's just a lot less likely. Without knowing the future there's no way of knowing what's the right move for anyone. I can't begrudge a kid for making a decisions on those things I just can't.

Nick needs the time for rehabilitation.
Big difference.
You don't think he is going to really be under the scope in the combine?
If anything it hurts him. The only chance to regain lost ground by not playing is to really wow at the combine and over come the microscope that will be on him.

It's not November yet, get back in your hole. But I think you're right.

Most mocks I look at right now have Fant going in the first round. CBS today has him going #16 to NYJ. I think it will depend on Iowa goes to. If ti is a New Years day bowl, I think he will play. If it is a lesser bowl, he may skip out.

I disagree. There’s 30 games of film on him. He’s got tape. He just needs to be at his peak healthy by combine time. If he can get to the 1st draft pick (right now he’s top 5) it’s $30 million guaranteed. The Bucknuts ain’t winning a title, he’s hurt. I don’t know that I love his choice, but I understand it.

He won't get past Belichek.

But no film post injury.

You’re correct, but it doesn’t matter. IF he shows up at the combine and blows it out of the water in terms of measurables, all is forgotten about his injury. IF his combine stats and measurables aren’t good, then he has problems. But if he’s as athletic as before the injury, his game film will be enough and he will be a high draft pick.
