OSU prediction thread

Anybody else notice that Fran had Cole matched up with Sullinger to start the game when I thought Basabe did a nice job guarding him and had a couple blocks in the game at Carver?

At Carver, MelBa outplayed him and put up a career day... he was phenomenal. Thought he was going to put up a triple-dub that game.

I don't see any reason why Marble should not be on the floor as much as possible. He's talented enough he just needs to play and everyone has to live with his mistakes and crappy defense. Sorry Gatens, if your a team player you'll go ride the pine.

I'm ready to toss this season out the window and get on the "give it time" bandwagon if the coach starts looking forward and gives our young guys the main roles.

Gatens, May and Cole need to ride pine. They're contributing nothing (EDIT: beyond turnovers). Use some of the younger guys.

Well I guess Eric May has been effectively benched this game. He can't do anything unless he is hitting jump shots. He will just never be able to dribble effectively enough to do anything.

I really dislike Marble playing the point. He is incredibly slow-footed, and has a very hard time with ball pressure. I just am not that high on Marble, but if we are going to develop him I'd rather him play more with Cartwright.

May is not comfortable with his role for whatever reason. I think he overachieved massively last season. We probably all overhyped him too much because of it. Good jumper (unfortunately I'm not talking about "jumper" as in jump shot), but that's about it really.

The only reason he's playing the point is because no else can. He would be playing the 3 if Payne was healthy.

I agree. I just don't really like his game. He needs to really refine his skills this summer because he is never going to be a plus Big 10 athlete. He must tighten up the handle and develop a consistent jump-shot. I see him more as spot-shooter who can out on the floor with a clear opening, he should not be isolating or creating.

I agree at this point he is better in the open court (sweet pass to Basabe for example)...unfortunately the "up tempo' style that we were sold on has been a lie. The only difference between this and Lick ball is that the team isn't required to hold the ball so long on offense so in turn we take more shots, and sometimes, make more shots thereby scoring more points. On defense, they switch it up more in game.

It is hard to run when you don't force turnovers or have ballhandlers or finishers. I'm not really sure what this team has.

Dear Andrew Brommer and Gus Johnson:

Thank you for not making this evening a complete waste of time.
