OSU-Michigan cancelled

No way. They can't. They can't sanctimoniously tell Nebraska to pound sand and then change the rules on a whim. Indiana versus Northwestern is set in stone, breh. That is good for the conference. It is also better for the conference for OSU to pummel Iowa or Wisconsin. Way more brand draw and either way it is guaranteed to be a top 15 game. Jesus, what if Northwestern loses to Illinois and isn't ranked?
Yeah they will. They have a ton of egg on their face regardless of what they do, they're gonna put OSU in that title game. No way they're gonna give up CFP money. Ain't happening.

Kevin Warren is going to come out and take some public admonishment, say how they thought they made the best decision at the time but "we made a mistake," and announce how they're going to allow OSU into the game.

Have they confirmed the champ week games are going to be domed? The conference pretty much needs to figure out a way to get the #2 game domed right now. Wisconsin and Iowa are nowhere near as good as OSU, but if they have to play outside on December 19, the potential for an upset goes from about 0.5% to 25%. You simply can't risk the playoff berth on playing the golden child in bad weather against a team with a good o-line and a few disruptive guys in the front 7 on defense. It's way too risky.
Don't think they've confirmed it. Just thinking of the slap to the face they'd be handing OSU in the event it played out that way.

A. You gents who want Iowa to play OSU are nuts. I will take my chances with that plucky Indiana squad.
B. I concur there is no fucking way OSU is not playing in the title game. Either they let OSU schedule someone else on the fly, or just change the standard.

Sorry but in a season that means absolutely nothing I'd rather see us play OSU than Indiana. Regardless of the probability that we get taken to the woodshed I'd always want to play the elites rather than another middle of the pack conference team having a good season.

Part of me wants to play OSU because they're OSU, and part of me wants to see if this Indiana team is the real deal or just a PJ Fleck type thing.

Due to my hatred for all things Nebby, I would love to see them rewrite the rules in favor of OSU just to stick it to Nebby one more time. The Big Ten has looked like absolute idiots since day one, in terms of how they've handled this season from day one, so at this point nothing would surprise me.

The competitive side of me always wants to match up with the elites. If we were to play Indiana and won and then went on to win a decent bowl game against a decent team, I'd still want to know how good they really were. There's nothing we could do against Indiana that would make me appreciate having to play them rather than OSU. I think a win would be bitter sweet.

Ain't no way they don't take care of the darling of the Big Ten. Remember a couple weeks ago when I said they were going to reneg on the rules to get OSU in the playoff? Well get ready to see it boys.

I've been leaning towards this as time has gone by. They are going to do something. Indiana could have a real beef but Ohio St. is only school that could represent in the playoffs.

Yup. And let's not forget who's chairing the committee deciding all this.... Ole Barta I'm sure would gladly put a good word in for OSU and the BIG I would bet. (if not ordered to by the other powers that be)
Pretty sure they have to leave the room when a team from their conference is being discussed to eliminate that sort of favoritism.

Kevin Warren is the Gary Barta of the Big Ten.

Completey in over his head and nothing but a mismanaging hand-shaker. He’s totally fucked up everything he’s touched.

Five minutes after they made the announcement people a whole lot dumber than me (and I’m pretty dumb) were saying, “What happens if OSU is undefeated and gets games cancelled by other teams?” There’s no goddamn way someone didn’t bring that up to Warren and he should have realized how much of a stupid fuckin idea that was.

I'm not sure that vaulting OSU into the Championship game would be enough. Even with a shortened season, giving them the benefit of the doubt and not factoring the three games that were cancelled look at what they've done on paper. They have wins over Nebby, PSU, Rutgers, MSU, and a good Indiana team. I'm not sure there's anything they can do in the last week of the season to prove they belong. Do I think they're one of the 4 best teams in the county? Yes, but I don't think they've got any thing in their resume that gives them the benefit of the doubt. I'm just not convinced that they've proven anything. Take out Indiana and I'm guessing, on the generous end, there's probably 15-20 top 25 teams that could be 4-0 with that schedule. I just don't see how you give them the benefit of the doubt when they'd only be playing 2 quality teams on their entire season.

This is why they need to piss pound either Iowa or Wisconsin. We both know Nebraska and PSU suck this year, but when GarBar is making his pitch to get them in, the graphic on his PowerPoint will look a lot better if they are coming off a convincing ass whipping of either Wisconsin or Iowa than Northwestern.

The Big Ten championship matters not for Ohio State. The committee has let both OSU and Bama in when they didn't win the conference and if you only have 6 wins and you can massage who the opponent is in one of them, you better put the name up that is going to pop the most. Northwestern ain't that team.

Only scenario I see for OSU not making the playoffs would be..........they lose in the championship game or they get Covid before their playoff game.

An exemption will be made for them by the BIG........you don't poke the bear.

They should have just started on time with the SEC. They could have had some wiggle room.

I don't disagree with you at all. But, their name is OSU. It's like why is Notre Dame always ranked high the first rankings in football. Why do they always have Michigan high.

I agree there is a high probability the league will say "well if at least two of you cancellations were by the opposing team" then it is not your fault and OSU gets to play in the title game, although I am not sure how OSU lands on that situation .

Well that is why high level managers have a lot of closed door meetings with very smart people they hire and paid consultants to look at all the angles before completing and publicizing their program.

They were under the gun timewise and threw shit at the wall. As someone else said if they started two weeks early with one bye week per team and one open weekend they could make up some games, for instance Iowa on their bye week that matches up with an OSU opening could have given them their extra game.

B1G could move Wisconsin to play OSU . In exchange the next 3 games with OSU are at Kinnick.

Well which B1G teams would be available to play.. I was thinking jNW had its game with Minny cancelled and why not just let them play this weekend.. what a bizarre scenario. But its not true, jNW is playing IL.
