per Pat Harty: Offensive lineman Orlando Brown Jr. confirmed through a text message that he will take an unofficial visit Friday and Saturday to Iowa City. The 6-9, 376-pound Brown, who now lives in Duluth, Ga., is considered one of the top recruits in the 2014 high school senior class.

Ferentz was Brown’s late father’s offensive line coach in the NFL.

Cedar Falls Ike Boettger earns offer at camp this week:

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Boettger listened to some simple advice given by Pat Mitchell, his co-coach at Cedar Falls High School, and then went out and earned himself a scholarship.

Offered as TE

This kid is a potential consensus 5*. Getting his commitment over the likes of Bama, Auburn, Florida, and the other usual suspects would be monumental achievement by our coaches. I say however, chances are more likely Iowa will get hit by an 8.2 magnitude earthquake than him signing with Iowa.

This.

Recruit offered by Iowa, check. Also has Wisconsin offer, check. Iowa state offer, che... Huh. No offer from CPR? Must be waiting to tagalong until before the kid's senior year.

Iowa will be in the running until the end. KF had a big impact on him when he was working with his father. Plus the fact that Iowa OL are getting drafted in the first round will help. I can see him going down to the top 3...Similar to the last 5* OL talent that was looking at Iowa til the end.

Myabe he will actually listen to himself when he says " I know KF can get me to the NFL as a first rounder." He actually knows that is true and doesn't ahve to hear KF tell him that.

That is an unreal size if correct!!

Serious question though. Is it possible for an OL to be too big - making it difficult for QB to see over and/or around?

Staff doesnt seem to be concerned about it as they targeted a 6'9" prospect to play the OL last year as well.
