@hawkeyegamefilm: Lot of pre-snap & late shuffling from D today, especially safeties. Some late rolls to disguise coverages

Will be very interesting to see how active this defense really is two weeks from today.

As I’ve said before…..while others focused on scheme, it was false starts, dropped, passes, missed tackle and just stupid crap that has held us back for a couple years. As a general rule we have been in position to make a play and failed…..THIS needs to improve immensely to be successful.
 
@hawkeyegamefilm: Very different pass cov I'd say. More variation, more man schemes . Run D & base schemes similar tho.

Last year Iowa punted 53 times which would have placed them 9th in the league....tOSU lead with 93…

In 2010 it was 55 times which would have placed them 7th, including Nebbie which is now including in our composites stats on Yahoo for what its worth....

7th again in 2009 with 61 and 10th in 2008 with 50, so again this is a perception thing. Iowa has been pretty consistent over the years and we have done a lot things apparently different than our fans remember.

And ironically enuff, punted less…..:D

I am sky high on Lowery and have been for some time. I love these Ohio kids as a rule….for those that say all the talent is moving South….I say BS. Ohio still produces around 100 or so D-1 kids per year. Just like Hyde before him he had the look of player before he even got here. As long as he stays healthy he is ALL-Big 10. He is that good!

And to the poster referencing T Smith…watched him in the World vs USA football game. Scored a TD and looked polished. He is a gamer…

True, but our punting numbers weren't out of line. Our time of possession was bad, but our amount of punts was also in 80's nationally out of about 120 teams. (86th or so I believe….) So really we can complain about or possessions and ultimately scoring, but our punts weren’t higher than they should have been and not indicative of KF “liking puntingâ€￾…
