One more year...

If Iowa could get Pearl I would say go for it. But we would have to pay over $5 million upfront in buyouts to even get our foot in the door and probably offer $3.5 million a year or more. I don't see that happening. I just don't see any other coach that would really want to come. You fire Lick and if Pearl and Stallings turn you down then what? You go after another mid major or assistant? We would be in the same boat with $2.5 million less.

I agree but I hope we wouldn't have to go to 3.5 to get him.

I really don't want to listen to M&D for a 4th time today to remember what Pearl is currently making. you'll have to look it up yourself.

He makes over $2.1 million...I think its closer to $2.5 now. And you know any offer Iowa puts out will be countered by Tennessee.

Pearl was previously signed through 2013 and made $1.3 million last season. His new deal increases his salary to an average $2.3 million a year. It includes a $250,000 bonus and an upfront retention bonus of $1.5 million.

"We went to Bruce and talked about giving him some upfront money to incent him to feel even better about Tennessee than he already does," Hamilton said.

Should he chose to leave Tennessee in the next five years, Pearl would owe a buyout that starts at $2.5 million and decreases incrementally each season to $1 million.

True, I'd also feel for them a little if we were able to steal Pearl away. Kiffin to USC then Pearl to Iowa. Atleast they know String isn't going to leave them.

I don't...I even left all my luggage, my phone number (to help him pack),and the name of a good real estate agent I know on his front lawn as a piece offering...

I also left a sign "Indiana or Bust" that will fit perfectly in a back window of a car!
