One and Done or NIT Championship

What would you rather have for this years team, as well as the development of next years.

Assume Iowa gets to Sunday and loses the BTT Championship.

Blow out loss in the first round of the NCAA
Win the NIT Championship.

Smh... we've already been over this before. Or are you trying to make fun of Caar with this post?

You take a bid to the NCAA over any kind of result in any other postseason tournament any day of the week. This shouldn't even be a question...

I'm enjoying watching them play so much that I would almost rather them win the NIT so i can watch them play more games. again I say almost

An NIT banner would look sooooo sweet in Carver.

Seriously though, there would be benefits of playing at Madison Square Garden in Prime time, with no other games on on ESPN as opposed to playing in the middle of the after noon with three other games on, on TruTV.

Plus, I feel like the NIT is respected a bit more since the NCAA took it over.

I'd still take the NCAA tourny though.

See here is the thing...

If the won the NIT, I would be happy.

If we got blown out in the first round, I'd be depressed.

Not me, because if they are playing in the NCAA, that means they won the Big Ten Tourney, that would be an amazing end to the season.

NCAA no contest...I want to be in the dance so bad it hurts...It's been a LONG time since I got the chance to pick the hawks through all the way to the title in my bracket! :)

Even if Iowa gets blown out in the first round of the NCAA I would be ecstatic over being BTT Champs, winning 20 games, and being part of the NCAA Tournament again.

If they lose the BTT Championship, they are going to the NIT.
Only way to get to NCAA is 4 in 4.

I don't think its that simple. If we make the BTT Championship game, that includes 2 more top 25 wins, including one over MSU.

It'll take a miracle to win tomorrow vs MSU, but I think making the champ game puts us right on top of the NCAA bubble. Given the resume's out there, I think Iowa gets in. I also think Iowa loses tomorrow to MSU.

who says they will get blown out in the 1st Game of the BD, i see at worst a 12 seed if they win the BTT, and Iowa would be 6-3 against teams in the Top 25, finishing against a #2 seed at worst in MSU, with that resume i might even go with a sweet 16 if they get a 12 seed, 12 vs 5 then 5 vs 4 matchup to reach the sweet 16, but lets put the BD on hold until after the MSU game

RPI is too awful to look at the Dance regardless.

which makes the rpi look even more useless, a team that goes 6-3 against Top 25 teams cannot crack the RPI 100, is wrong on so many fronts

This! Have you guys ever hung around an engineer? This is the type of statistical garbage they come up with to prove something works or doesn't work when any maintainer could tell you the truth over a beer.

Blame it on home losses to Campbell, Nebraska, Penn State, and Clemson. Can't lose at home to 100+ RPI teams. Cannot happen.
