for those still looking for the post I was indicating - follow the link provided above, and scroll down to a post by sbl hawk. it is his or her 1st post, and you can't miss it. I'm guessing it is a father or sibling of Brandon's GF. Or someone very close to the family. People are 'dumb' with these websites/facebook, etc. From the clues in the post and throughout that thread you can easily find out who she is with pictures if you are so inclined.
After reading that post, I believe that people will be much more informed on the Wegher situation. Definitely, very, very difficult decisions to make. I am very happy to see Wegher take his time with such a life changing decision. Family comes before football and raising a child at the age of 19 would not be easy.

very true. my problems at 19 were much different! (thankfully). hard making decisions at 19, let along life changing decisions like he is looking at right now.
And to the person who chimed in with the 'baby mama' stuff. get a life. take a step back and think about this, just for a bit - if you have that ability.

Wow...that post on the other site is an eye opener. Tough decisions for sure. In my mind, he comes back very soon to the team. The transfer decision comes next year in my opinion. Unless the gestation period for Wegher's kids is different than the rest of us, they have 7-8 months before things get really difficult.
Wegher's family, if I lived in Iowa City, I'd watch the kid on Tuesday and Thursday's from 8:00am to 12:00.

Maybe people need to grow up and realize they need to make choices for themselves and stay out of their business.
Its truly sad to see the situation for BW unfold this way but we all make choices good and bad and we have to live with them. I too grew up in SC and really wanted him to succeed but life has alot of obstacles the more success you have.
Tough decisions indeed! Both brandon and his g/f are tremendous Iowa athletes and have represented the University of Iowa athletics as true freshmen. I have heard lil wegher is due in November, so even if he stays on the team...he will need to be there when the baby is due etc. Which could be a big distraction for Brandon in such a critical month for the team. I think taking a red-shirt year for Brandon would be the best decision for him, or to move back home so they have help raising the lil wegher from family. The redshirt would give him all of the fall to be with the lil one and the g/f and get a good routine with school and being a father. Then getting back into things in the spring could be an option and then when this time comes next year lil wegher will be 9 months old etc. I think there is a little more at stake with the lil wegher due in November than any other month. But like us Hawkeye fans have said, "In Kirk We Trust" so I believe everything will be just fine in Hawkeye land! Maybe we'll see a future wegher (boy or girl) as a hawkeye! Always thinking positive here

just because you redshirt athletically doesn't mean that you don't go to school.
