Omaha World Herald takes a shot at Iowa Football program, their coach, their fans.

Re: Omaha World Herald takes a shot at Iowa Football program, their coach, their fans

The days of hiding guns and allowing murderers, yes murderers, on the field are LONG gone. F him, and F that whole program.
Proof?

I guess what bothers me is that he claims to be equally critical of nebraska, and not be catering to his readers. Yet the whole column is a personal dislike for our program. .

total idiot...he should be writing how Pelini is the death of Husker football as we know it.....Oh God forbid he write or attempt to write anything bad about Big Red (or even attempt to write anything that makes sense)....Big Red Loser
FWIW, Dick isn't a mouthpiece for the Nebraska football program. Pretty much all Husker fans dislike him as he has stirred the pot more than any local writer I can ever recall. Dude is a straight up troll, and not a very good writer.

only their coach is a complete embarassment

Team Jack, Zack Darlington and this:

"Hey," he says as I stand to leave, reading the words on my shirt. "'Project Shanks.' What is that?"
He just passed the test. This, I wanted him to ask me about. A real person -- a real nice person, anyway -- shows interest in others. And Bo just showed an interest. So I tell him about Chris Stuckey, a young man from Texas I met on Twitter and then have seen at a Rangers game and during Super Bowl week in Dallas. I tell him Chris was in an accident years ago that left him a quadriplegic, but that this kid is tougher than any five people I know. He writes, he does radio, he started his own website: Project Shanks.
"I'd like to be involved with a guy like that," Bo tells me. "You think you can get me one of those shirts?"
Yeah, Bo. I think maybe so."

Not quite rhabo or the littany of arrests under Kirk. But OMG, he yells at officials and makes funny faces.

that has no prospects of ever sniffing a BCS game
2009 and 2010 disagree.

Dude you have no idea how much Kirk Ferentz and his wife have done for the U of I Children's Hospital and Clinics. I wouldn't even enter that realm of discussion. He just donated $500,000 not that long ago. Something he's done multiple times. You want to know what the difference between Kirk and Bo is? Kirk doesn't go out of his way to make sure what they do with their own generosity goes public. He doesn't need the whole world to know in order to feel good about himself.

Nebraska is just doing its best attempt to create some positive PR around Pelini after the nightmare that his attitude had created. According to your little paragraph all Pelini did was show interest in getting a t-shirt. Sure, he's probably a nice guy when you catch him at the right time. However, true character shows the most during adversity. We all know what happens to Pelini during those times. He tells his own fanbase they can F themselves.

And you have no idea what Pelini (or anyone else) has done for charity, things that don't go public.

Pelini has a foundation that funds cancer research. A quick google search didn't turn up any Ferentz Foundation.

Actually, true character shows the most when people aren't looking.

I find it hilarious that y'all fall at the feet of Fran (when he's winning) but are quick to criticize Bo. Shoot, Fran got suspended for essentially assaulting an official.

Edit: Continue on with the butthurt.

You mean like when he thought he was speaking in private but a microphone caught what he was saying? That kind of timing when people aren't looking? Exactly :)

Ferentz isn't going to start a foundation in his own name. They just donate their money straight to the hospital. Which happens to be a major research hospital also btw.

Fran's only guilty of showing emotion during games. If that's all Bo has been criticized for then it would be a fair comparison. However, Bo has a history of being a complete A-hole off the field as well. To my knowledge, Fran has done nothing to attract negative attention for his behavior off the court.

Doesn't Neb have board for you to go to ?

I'm not gonna jump into your two arguement here... But to say Fran got suspended for "essentially" assaulting an official, is extreme overstatement.
Have a debate with DP, but let's not bo things out of proportion.

Re: Omaha World Herald takes a shot at Iowa Football program, their coach, their fans

OWH does enjoy taking their shots at Iowa. If they weren't complete cheeleaders for UN then they'd lose readers. Haven't won a conference title since '99. That wasn't that long ago though. That was when the internet made crazy sounds when you logged on, Monica Lewinsky was a big topic, and we feared of a national meltdown on Y2K.

Sure as f*ck have seen enough of his antics on and off the field to know he's not even .01% of the human that KF is. Geezus you guys are seriously some of the most delusional people out there. The truly comical part is that your fanbase still thinks you're actually relevant. Jokes on you.

Re: Omaha World Herald takes a shot at Iowa Football program, their coach, their fans

I will say that KF visited a guy I knew who had cancer every week for months until he died. KF doesn't have to do things like that. I honestly believe he is a good man. I don't think that's up for debate. To compare Bo and Kirk is silly.

Ha ha. This is fantastic! He bumped an official on purpose. Did he look like a clown & deserve a suspension? Absolutely. But assault or essentially an assault? Wow, you are a Sally.

In common law, assault is an act which causes a person to apprehend immediate unlawful person violence.

I was being sarcastic.

Oh, I know the program, much better than you. I just wanted you to elaborate on your blatant LIE thatthere was someone convicted of murder on that team.

Either way, Osbourne is/was a POS
.
I guarantee that Osborne has done more good than both Ferentz and Bo combined with all of the foundations and programs that he has been involved with. But then again, you're irrational and not particulary intelligent, so I wouldn't expect an unbiased opinion from you. You'd call Jesus himself a worthless POS if he was the head coach at Nebraska.

I personally don't know either of these guys, and I'm going to assume that most everyone else here does not, either. So, I won't judge someone that I don't personally know on tidbits of information I've been exposed to.

Remember, Sandusky and Paterno were great guys too.

Apparently the B1G network and ESPN/ABC do, too. How many prime time games does Iowa have this year?

Actually Iowa doesn't necessarily play anyone worthy of having one, sides for maybe wisky or nebby but those both fall in nov and nebby is on Black Friday. I don't think anyone really knows either guy unless you actually played for them. Most people though my college coach was a great guy but during practice he would curse endlessly, a real jerk.

As for the guy writing the article he clearly wants this kind of reaction. An ordinary( not great) Iowa team went into Lincoln and routed them. End of story.

Wow. No wonder clown fans couldn't wait to get your *** out of the Big 12. My bad, not convicted but on trial. As if that somehow makes it ok. Feel better now? Does that somehow lessen the pile that is Tom Osbourne? What say you about the rest of the FACTS in the article? How that guy isn't in jail is beyond me. Tampering with witnesses, purposefully messing with evidence in a felony, etc, etc. The list goes on and on. And that's just what got exposed. I'm sure there's MUCH more shadiness from Osbourne that we don't even know about. The fact that you defend a POS like Osbourne truly says a lot about you. You should go back and blow the fusker board.

I mostly agree, except that we got a prime time with......Illinois??????

I think that if both teams are in contention for the West, the Iowa/Wisc. and NU/Wisc. games should be in prime time. The Black Friday game likely will never be in prime time, regardless of it relevance.

You mean 2001?
No it was in reference to your statement that Bo would never sniff a CC, and I simply referenced the 2 times he did sniff it, yet fell short.

“F*** you, fans. F*** all of you."
I think you misquoted that, my man.

Nebraska's basketball team is on the upswing though. If I were a Nebraska fan, I'd be pleased with what is going on in that program.
Haha, touche'. If there were a like button, I'd like.

Who is the Osbourne you're referring to?

He'd probaby be charged with witness tampering if there was any real evidence other than hersay.

Frankly the article that you've got bookmarked and deal from the bottom of the deck every chance you get it no more journalism than the troll piece that Dick put in the OWH yesterday. I realize that you're not particularly smart and will chose to believe what you want regardless of its accuracy. People like you are who the news media preys upon.

Lastly, seeing some of the arrest records at Iowa during Kirk's time, I wouldn't go pointing fingers. If you think that shady things don't happen in every major college football program, then I've got some prime ocean front propery to sell you in Waterloo.
