Wow, a little thin skinned, huh? Searching for a reason to be offended?

Thin skinned? Perhaps you are just dense. Pathetically dense.

There is nothing offensive about this picture. I wasn't offended by the Sports Soundoff clip, I found it stupid. Actually, it was ironic. I was thinking "You do realize that you are in IOWA don't you? People outside of the state of Iowa view your state in the EXACT way." As unoffensive as that clip was, it is more offensive than this picture of ACTUAL Iowa fans at a game.
I find it offensive that you would just assume that the people are "special needs" based solely on their appearance. You should be ashamed. Your obsession with Nebraska is frightening. Really, grow up.
You are an embarrassment to decent Hawk fans. For you to be ashamed that 2 possibly special needs people (your assumption, not mine) are Hawk fans is despicable.

Your obsession with Nebraska is frightening. Really, get a life and grow up.

Actually rih-tards now like the term, "Intellectual Disability"
but a newspaper puts a picture of some loyal hawkeye fans in rain gear for last weaks game and there automatically makeing fun of them. .
I am suprised there isn't a thread where Mike and Mike were talking about the big 3 evening matchups on at about the same time on Saturday night....
Florida - Bama
Stanford - Oregon
AND...
BC and the Notre Damsels
First, Nebraska is portrayed in the exact same way outside of our borders, so as a Nebraskan, I'm used to it. While there certainly are those type of people in both NE and IA, I consider those who feel that all of us are that way are ignorant and unintelligent. I don't take it too personally. No, people outside our state view our people as the exact way this picture was meant to portray. I will take this a step further. What are the 2 glaringly obvious things in this photo?
A. There is 2 overweight and not attractive people acting like there is something going on.(There is obviously NOT a game going on at this point)
B. There is NO ONE else in the stadium.
This was a way for to say Iowa people are indeed ******* obese hicks.
And that no one goes to Iowa games so they should have no problem with this color scheme.
No one is obsessed with Nebraska football in this thread. We are insulted that the Herald felt it needed to take an obvious shot at Iowa in general, cause really what was the point of them even wasting the space if no one in Nebraska even cares?

Second, I read a post complaining that Iowa gets no love in Omaha. Now you are, enjoy. I have no idea why the stands are mostly empty, they could have arrived very early, or they could have stayed late to avoid traffic. I can't make that assumption.
Good Lord, some of you are waaaaaaayyyy too sensitive. Honestly, who gives two ***** about what Nebraska fans think or the Omaha newspaper prints?
Maybe they were trying to be funny. Maybe they were trying to be insulting. Maybe they were trying to show some people in Hawkeye gear. Hell, maybe the corn-fed, inbred, 1/2-retarted, corn-fusker editor thought that those are the two most attractive people he has ever seen.
If Husker fans are dumb enough to buy off on this image of Iowa fans, then that is pretty much their problem, isn't it? Perhaps they can use that image next year to make themselves feel better, after we go to their place and whip their damn *****...
I understand your point but it's a little different when you live here. This was below the belt IMO.
I live just west of Des Moines, and have several friends that live in Omaha. I have experienced how obnoxious Nebby fans can be (and met a lot of really great Nebraska fans as well). Perhaps living there and having to deal with them on a constant basis makes one more sensitive.
Let's be honest, though. This is pretty much the ultimate in "pot calling the kettle black". Put those two in bib overalls, ****-covered boots, red t-shirts, and goofy looking straw hats (extra points for chewing on a piece of grass or carrying a banjo), and you have any of 80000 Nebby fans. They know it. We know it. It is certainly the way the rest of the country sees us (and them).
Sure, it might be a bit below the belt. So was the Sound-Off stuff. And about a million other little things back and forth. Take it for what it is - an attempt at humor or a jab at rivals. Either way, both fan bases know better then to really think that is the way our fans really are...

I appreciate the sentiment of your post but you have to understand, Sound Off isn't a "news" program. This is the only major newspaper in the state of Nebraska.
Omaha resident here, but too much Big Red BS for me to pay much attention to local coverage. What happened on Sound Off?
