Old School Hawkeye Basketball Posters - take a look

I remember having the 91-92 "smooth operators" poster, autographed. I also had the 93 poster, I loved Acie Earl when I was 11.

Really cool posters, Stormin.....

I liked this one. This was a good team. The Hair gets a lot of flak, but he had at least four very good teams in his career at Iowa. The two teams with Recker and Evans, and two of the teams with Horner, Brunner and Haluska.....

I got a poster every year when I was growing uo...from about 88 to 2000...and always had it hanging in my room...REALLY wish I would have kept them...

This one is very nice.....

The Marble, Horton and Armstrong years were my favorite teams. Mr. Davis's first year was the best team we have had since the Downtown Freddy Brown and John Johnson team that made it to the Elite Eight, and should have been national champs, if not for the A Train and Pembroke Burroughs.....

Rodney Monroe put the kibosh on our plans this year.....

The movie theater one is sick... it's actually a music theater, and one of my favorite venues in Seattle. It's about half a mile from where I live.

I have a wonderful one of Hayden Fry. It is a close-up of Hayden on the sidelines with a black tiger-hawk cap. You can see the play on the field in the reflection of his sun glasses.

It has to be almost thirty-year old. It is in a back frame with gold backing. Boosters used to get nice posters every year with the schedule on it. My Dad showed it to my wife, & she knew exactly what my X-mas present was going to be.

It is awsome. As a matter of fact, Hayden is looking over my shoulder as I type.

I have another framed picture of an aerial view of Kinnick Stadium. Both are hanging in my office at home.

Most of the posters aren't very good but a few are awesome.

Nice. Three observations.

1). You don't really notice any of the coaches on the poster until the Alford era.

2). Paul Lusk and Troy Skinner don't look out of place wearing medical scrubs and checking x-rays. In fact, I've probably had nurses that look more like basketball players than those guys do.

3). Brig Tubbs looks handsome in a suit. He should run for office.

that theatre isn't in Seattle. Seattle hosted the final four that year. Don't think the hawks flew Bruce Aune from kcrg out to Seattle for the poster shoot. Unless you were joking
