I like Gabe. I could see him developing into a solid center. His problem is that no matter how much he develops, Woodbury will be playing in front of him. Depending on how much he improves, Gabe has an outside chance to start at PF when he's a senior and Basabe is gone, and that's only if White plays the wing. Barring injuries and transfers, that's really the only realistic scenario I see in which Gabe ever becomes a starter.
Would not be so quick to dismiss Gabe. Right now Adam is the better player, and I think he can get better. However, Gabe's athleticism and quickness give him a greater potential upside than Adam. What Adam lacks right now -- strength and quickness -- can't be taught and will improve only incrementally. Gabe can be taught to be a more dominating presence on both ends of the floor, how to distribute the ball, how to be part of an overall 5-player scheme. Would not surprise me by the start of next year for Gabe to be challenging Adam for the starting position at the 5.
