I don't see anyone hating gabe. I see people stating why they think he is probably a career bench player.

I feel he is a career bench player that by next yr or his sr yr he might be a reliable back up center that can play 15 min. He isn't that right now.

I thought the same about may and I don't dislike him or hate him. In fact I very much respect him because he decided to play bball instead of football when fball probably had better prospects for him.

I respect gabe because of how hard he works and how he is on the bench. Every team needs guys like him. But he has a long way to go before he is a guy that can be relied on during non-garbage time. And a 13 point lead on usd is like a 20 pt lead on nebby. If gabe was as reliable as you seem to think they would go to him when woody gets in foul trouble. Instead fran has typically gone to mccabe or basabe or even white at the 5 in the competitive games where woody has been in foul trouble.

people said the same thing about Jepson and he ended up in the NBA
people didn't think Hanson amount to anything and he did pretty good.
whether youi like it or not Akeem was not a hot shot player when he was a Freshman and SO.
but developed thru COACHING,
what's the matter you DOUBT Fran and his staff's ability to develope players?

Yup. And for every one player like that, there are 4765 players that reach nowhere close to that level.

Gabe is not a BoneG center, and he will not prepare anyone to play against one.

In terms of size, athletic ability, and defensive ability hes as good as any center in the B10. Again he is the perfect player for Woody to go against in practice and I'm very glad hes on the team. I think he has a chance to be very productive for this team.

I don't doubt their ability. Instead I understand that expecting a raw and inexperienced player to develop into a star is the exception and not the rule. Hakeem had moses malone teaching him (don't think we have anyone like that teaching gabe). I understand he could develop but to assume it makes you look ignorant and you should learn what happens when you assume.

I would love to see Gabe develop into a top flight Big Ten center. I just know that he isn't there yet, and it isn't close. I was hoping to see much more from him than he has shown thus far this season. I hope he continues to battle and improve in practice. It will be good for both he and woody. I don't see him playing a great deal this season beyond need caused by foul trouble or during mop up.

Its still early in the season and he hasn't had much game experience. It will be interesting to see how he does when he starts to relax and just plays his game.

I like Gabe. I could see him developing into a solid center. His problem is that no matter how much he develops, Woodbury will be playing in front of him. Depending on how much he improves, Gabe has an outside chance to start at PF when he's a senior and Basabe is gone, and that's only if White plays the wing. Barring injuries and transfers, that's really the only realistic scenario I see in which Gabe ever becomes a starter.
