Ok, now I am convinced

Cartwright is in a funk, just like Basabe was and needs to play out of it. I agree the team is better with Marble, but somebody needs to be able to spell him and not have the team fall apart.

Stop defending Cartwright. He just isn't good. No more injury excuse. He shouldn't even play 10 minutes. This team thrives off Marble.
You must have missed last year. Shut
up. Have you ever played with a hamstring injury? No? We have seen him play over an entire season. He is good. You are not.

So that hamstring is causing him to miss wide open shots? What the hell was that full court pass? Oh was that the hamstring too? He's not good. No excuses. He was good last year... Not this year. One hit wonder.

Marble is the difference. It's his attitude. The guy wants it bad. This is what we've lacked for a long time now. Looking forward to seeing him as the year progresses. I love how he's not waiting for somebody to do something. Just take over. That's what Cartwright did a few times last year but just didn't quite have the game to do it. Cartwright will be back and it will help.

Have you ever played organized basketball? Its all about getting into the flow of the game. Hard to do that when you've played sparingly at below full-strength and are coming off the bench. For gosh sakes we haven't even played a conference game yet.

Yes, he was good last year and now he sucks. Just like Basabe was good last year and now he....oh wait he is good again. Just be quite you know nothing. Bryce is a good player and he will show it once again. This team needs him badly once BIG starts and he will step up.

One thing about Cartwright, Fran did refer to him as the backup PG for the team and that he might start again. Interesting way he said it. I piqued my interest, for sure.

Look, we're (I'm Iowan it's WE damnit) in for a long slog in the B1G but we've seen improvement in the team which is what you'd like to see. I love Marble and White and it was great to see Mel be Mel. Feeling very positive about the future of Iowa hoops.

Come on man, you know your argument is futile. This guy isn't just a Hawkeye, or even TheHawkeye, he's THEEHawkeye!!

With two e's. Because he's important.

Look up the stats. 28 percent from the field. 18 percent behind the arc. 69 points all season. 40 assist to 25 turnovers. Very good stats... Not.

But let me guess... it's cause the hamstring.

The team lacks a power presence and speed at the guard spot. Good thing that comes next year. It will be interesting to see how White and Marble keep developing physically. Both are very long for their positions and as they continue to gain strength should be able to play over their opponents.

The important thing will do is to keep the focus on the future during the B1G stretch.

I sure hope the players are smart enough to stay away from these forums! We are so fickle, last yr Cartwright carried this team in conference play, until Fran says he is 100% I will support Bryce! A couple bad games and we are ready to lynch these kids, 2 weeks ago fans were hoping Baasbe would leave, now he is the savior, get behind this team and watch them improve!

A hamstring injury will absolutely affect your shot, your explosiveness, speed and just about every other aspect of your game. You see in basketball, players use their legs. Watch them do it sometime.

Hamstring injuries are psychologically a lot Like knee injuries, it takes a little extra time to regain the confidence to trust it and push yourself again.

Its really a lot tougher than internet posting or watching tv.

With the addition of quality size options down low, guys like White and Besabe should be able to really find their game.

We have Marble, Olgesby, Gatens, Basabe, White, and Cartwright when he is back to full speed. That is blatently obvious after tonight.

And what I find even more encouraging for the future, is that most of these guys are Fran recruits, save Gatens & Marble. Fran knows how to recruit and find the players he needs.. Good things are on the way. Once Fran fills out this roster with his players and these guys play together for a couple of years, look out.

The Big Ten season is still going to be bumpy, but I'm looking forward to watching the younger players improve and this team (hopefully) surprise a few people. The record may end up looking much like it did a year ago, but I think this year's team has more potential to win more conference games than last year's team did.. We'll see if that actually happens or not.

More weapons this year.

Cartwright get freaky with your woman or what, you seem to have an inordinate amount of hate for him? I am sure your assist to turnover ratio was 1000 to 0 when you were playing Big Ten basketball, right?

I'm guessing you've never pulled a hammy, you seem more like a groin pulling kind of guy.

Hooray:eek: Boise State may finish 12th this yr in the Big Ten, slowly Fran is improving this program, now sit back and enjoy the ride because there may be some bumps along the way

He doesn't need to be defended. But I will anyway. He proved himself last year. The guy's hurt. A hamstring problem can linger all season. It's tough to deal with. BC is a baller, but he's not 100%. Lay off.
