Ok, now I am convinced

A hamstring injury will absolutely affect your shot, your explosiveness, speed and just about every other aspect of your game. You see in basketball, players use their legs. Watch them do it sometime.

Hamstring injuries are psychologically a lot Like knee injuries, it takes a little extra time to regain the confidence to trust it and push yourself again.

Its really a lot tougher than internet posting or watching tv.

Exactly. The psychological part of certain injuries can take a REALLY long time to recover. You basically need that game or that moment that makes you believe you're "back" or that it has fully healed.

I like how after the Campbell loss everybody was just down in the dumps about basketball saying they'll be lucky to get 10 wins this year. I saw the massacre at the Well and could see that this year wasn't lost. The team just wasn't playing well. There is talent on the floor, they are young and still need the time to get coaching and confidence. I've believed all along that any team is capable of getting on a run (providing they play defense). B1G season now to start and we'll see what happens, but a win or two here early and we could see some impressive games down the stretch.
It is all just wait and see. But I do believe the right coach is here and we'll see that by the end of the season and definitely next year.

One thing about Cartwright, Fran did refer to him as the backup PG for the team and that he might start again. Interesting way he said it. I piqued my interest, for sure.

Yeah, that one caught me off guard. I actually reread that statement a few times because I was sure I was mis-reading it somehow. I think DM has the better game right now and that it's the right move; it just surprised me because Fran has always been really high on Cartwright and I thought coming off the injury he would immediately be #1 again when he was ready.

It already shows me Fran has something our previous coach did not: an open mind. I believe a huge factor in Lick's player retention issues was that he stubbornly stuck with HIS lineup when play clearly showed there were other guys that should be on the court (I'm looking at you David Palmer). It's refreshing, isn't it?

THIS TEAM IS WINNING AND PLAYING BETTER NOW CAUSE MARBLE IS STARTING OVER CARTWRIGHT. IDK WHY YOU PEOPLE ARE IN DENIAL. MARBLE IS BETTER THAN CARTRIGHT. IT'S OBVIOUS.

Does anybody agree that they are playing better because of Marble starting over Cartwright?

We agree you like to beat dead horses.

Excellent point. They both can't start and Marble has to be on the floor playing max minutes. Marble needs somebody to give him a break and we have no other options this year. If the roles were reversed and Cartwright was tearing it up and Marble was scuffling, Marble would be a backup like he was early on. Cartwright lost the starting job to a better player, period.

Thank you!!! This team needs Marbles ability to score.

I think you can throw McCabe on that list as well. He will give this team good minutes and bring a "don't **** with me attitude."

I like McCabe and I think this team could use more of his attitude. That said, he needs to read the line better between hard-nosed aggressive "don't *** with me" play and drawing the really unnecessary foul, especially in critical points in the game. There are times where I want to reach through the TV screen and tell him, "Zach, you were good up to about half a second ago, and then you went too far."

I think you can do that now with the newer 3D tv models.

Of course they can both start, they did last year.

No cartwright should be off the bench.

Look up the stats. 28 percent from the field. 18 percent behind the arc. 69 points all season. 40 assist to 25 turnovers. Very good stats... Not.

But let me guess... it's cause the hamstring.

So let me see if I understand this?

Last year the guy was arguably our best player, now he gets injured, and is playing poorly.

But the playing poorly part is not caused by the injury? Thats seriously what your suggesting?

Have you ever played basketball? Have you ever been injured?

Have you ever successfully put together a logical sequence of thought?

Best player? I wouldn't say that.

I'm just saying I think he was good last year but I think this injury thing is getting old. I think he's just not playing well and Marble is a lot better then he is.

I think the team plays better with Marble starting.

I don't think McCaffrey would run Cartwright out there if he wasn't 85% or better. If he was still hobbled, it would make sense to save him for big ten play. McCaffrey has been visibly upset with BC on more than a few occasions the past few games and I don't see McCaffrey as a guy to pile on a player he thinks is dinged up. Maybe it is a longer healing process and McCaffrey is trying to steal a few of minutes of rest for Marble. I hope we can see the BC of last season, as his return to form would give us a nice boost heading into conference play.
