!*****Official Youngest Basketball Team Ever! @ Little Dick Pitinoville Game Thread*****!

I don't get it. Moss is one of the best defenders if not the best and he has offensive skills nobody else on the team has. Nowhere to be seen late in games.
Fran likes Ellingson for what he does..... which is nothing at the end of this game

Should never have gone to overtime. Frans end of game coaching bites us once again

Only slightly negative thing about program right now.... fun to watch, play w/ moxie of their coach, getting better - BUT - didn't get even a decent look / play at end of regulation or OT - same at Neb - both of these games & moments will be tough to take when looking back at what could have been.

No. A number of things did obviously.

But all we had to do was secure the ball at he end of regulation or get a decent shot at the end of the first overtime neither of which we did.. and both of which we have seen many times before.

The thing is, Ellingson did secure the ball, and he called timeout, and the tied up player was out of bounds.

I'll give ya the end of reg play, we forced it to Jok. We got a decent look at the end of OT #1.

I'm pretty pisssed on this one. I don't blame refs much, but this was blatant. A simple look at the monitor reverses that call, and Iowa wins.

To be fair, I'm not sure it matters we're so focused on getting Jok touches that we just running the weave til he gets it on a handoff and the ball sticks and Jok goes 1-1.

Well, to be fair, the missed call should have resulted in Iowa ball with 20 or so seconds to go. Iowa still has to inbound the ball and/or make FTs. Not a done deal, but I do like their chances. Unfortunate for the Hawks.

I was at the game and that play happened right in front of me I thought he would be calling for time out to and didn't understand why he didn't get it.

That wasn't Brady's fault, he did everything right there. Hold the ball as long as they let you to let time run, and then cover up and call TO as they come to foul you. He did his job to perfection......ref not so much.

In a just world, the Big Ten in conjunction with the NCAA reverses the game decision and awards Iowa the win (in a just world).

I agree, it seemed that it was get the ball to Jok and clear out.

I could seriously hear, and see, him call the timeout...from my couch. And even if the ref couldn't, you need to look at the monitor.

Fran proves yet again he has no idea what to do with a last second possession. Did he even consider the idea that Jok wouldn't be able to get the ball? He had Baer. Ellingson, and Pemsl just standing at the top of the key literally just watching. That's just terrible.

At first I didn't think it would be reviewable but I suppose they could have with the justification of it being an OB call under 2 minutes but I don't think the officials had a clue that he was out and I didnt notice either when it was live.

I think everybody was just so shocked the request wasn't granted and then the officials had to deal with Fran and the assistants that I don't think the refs ever discussed the OB situation/possibility.

But they stop to review a foul to see if flagrant, when the game was over. Sorry, this one is inexcusable. It's not guaranteed Iowa inbounds and wins, but this was stolen.

We had the ball secured though, and Ellingson clearly called timeout. Even if he didn't the Minnesota player was out of bounds so it still should have been Iowa ball. That call royally screwed us over.

Throwing the ball the length of the court with 3.6 seconds was an inexcusably bad coaching decision.

Agreed. That didn't make any sense. There was plenty of time to throw it 1/4 of the way and then have whoever catches the inbounds pass, probably Jok or Bohannon, bring the ball up and fire a 3.
