***OFFICIAL NFL DRAFT THREAD***

Have to give Spielman credit. In 2010 & 2011 the Vikings looked old and unathletic except for AP, Harvin, & Greenway.

In the last year, they added a great draft class, rid themselves of a extremely talented but off the charts cry baby for a 1st round pick, plucked GB's best WR (who does get hurt a lot though) and have now added 3 athletic players at need areas.

Last I checked, Randall Cobb is still on the Packers roster.

Absolutely LOVE Eddie Lacey to the Packers. Many thought GB would take him in the first round; getting Lacey at the end of the 2nd round and an extra pick is tremendous value.

Hopefully he can turn into the franchise running back that they haven't...really had in my lifetime.

see thread :)

Dallas has somewhat redeemed themselves with the WR/S they took.

My wife, brother and one of my best friends are Cowboys fans. Two hate Romo, but all three think JJ needs to sell the team or hand over all operations to his dimwitted, but more intelligent son Steven, however after last night when he looked like a mental patient when they took the C, I beg to differ.

When he and Jimmy couldn't put their egos aside; the Cowboys were done...the idiots that they have hired as coaches, aside from Parcells, just continue to speak volumes to how much football sense there is in that organization today.

Paying Doug Free as much as they do is just stupid among other things like keeping Marcus Spears, Bradie James long after they were just done. There are so many other things, ignore the O-Line to try and get the flashy player, ignore the LB to try and get a shut down corner...ignore the D-Line.

This is a pattern that got the 49ers in trouble for so long...ignore the two most important facets of the game the OL/DL and try and draft guys later or go free agency, it just doesn't work. Look at the Super Bowl years and how many of those guys on the OL and DL were drafted.

I do feel a little better about the Bears 2nd round pick in Bostic but I threw up in my mouth when the Chargers traded up to grab Manti Teo who the Bears should have taken in the first round. I look at all the players selected after the Bears and except the Cowboys pick I would have been happy with any of those other players. The Bears had needs all over the place there was no need to reach for a player like that. Kyle Long only started 4 games for Oregon. Chip Kelly must be laughing his *** off seeing the Bears reach for a guy like that.

Let me say this on your Bears.
Kyle Long was the No. 3 ranked player coming out of high school as an OT, but he chose to play baseball at FSU, instead of football. He decided being a 6-7 300lb pitcher wasn't for him. He goes to a JUCO and yeah, he may have only started four games, but I think he can start instantly at OG and eventually kick out to RT if need be.

Your take on Teo, he is not a great player...period. Is he a good player, yeah, but I never believed he was worthy of a 1st round pick at all. The mistake the Bears did make was taking a defensive player from Florida, they are boom or bust and no real in-between. Not sold on Bostic, but I don't really think Teo is much of an upgrade if any.

Long will start Week 1, Bostic...meh maybe.

Ugh...LSU with 6 draft picks by themselves and the BoneG has 7

Druggies and thugs...good thing my team (49ers) took one of the washouts...seriously think about this...what Les Miles coached recruited player has done anything in the NFL outside of Patrick Peterson?

Damn! Hyde goes to GB. As a Bear fan I hate the fact that all the other teams in the NFC North seem to value ex-Hawkeyes more than the Bears. Hard to cheer for players on your main competitor's teams. In fact, I can't even remember the last time the Bears drafted a Hawkeye. Does it go all the way back to Bortz and Hilgenberg?

I hate that too. And with how irritated I have gotten with the bears I refuse to watch them until they make a SB again or draft a hawkeye.

When there is a 50% chance or higher that Vick will be your starter, I'd bring in every QB I could get my hands on.
Kelly needs accurate guys. Barkley is that. Plus, he isn't really fast, but he has young legs. If Chip is running 80 plays a game, he is going to go through a few QBs over the course of the season.

i think someone will pick up Davis in the seventh round, but i doubt either Ferentz or JVB get drafted.

I disagree; Kelly runs something of a simpleton offense. It is simply predicated by the QB going to his first option probably 80% of the time or more. I don't see NFL teams dropping back and playing coverage...here is another little factoid for you. What was the last QB coached by Chip Kelly that has been successful; remind you of anyone named Spurrier?

Also is accuracy mattered in his offense Kelly would have 2 or more National Championships, but when it mattered the most guys like Derron Thomas, Masoli, Mariota have crumbled and looked like mere average QB's when teams were physical and played tighter coverage forcing the QB to attempt to read something. How did that work out for them?

Teams that played pro-style schemes against them, controlled them...that offense doesn't have an answer for it.

Here is another little factoid...was or wasn't a ball boy fired at USC because Barkley needed air out of the football because he couldn't grip it and throw an accurate ball with it fully inflated?

Cow Chip is going to fail in the NFL just as Spurrier, Saban and Butch Davis have before him...this hiring will set the Eagles back another four years. Then he won't be able to go back and coach in college because of the little NCAA fiasco that he left Oregon in.

This will be one of the most epic fails we have seen in the NFL since Maranelli in Detroit.

I disagree with you. I honestly don't think he will run the same thing he ran in college. He ran his offense the way he did at Oregon because it has success at that level. Will his offense still be fast? You bet, but he's also smart enough to realize that what worked in his old system might not carry over to this level. I personally really like Coach Kelly and believe he's a good coach.

When you get a chance read this from when he was at Oregon. It's a pretty decent look into his mind and how he runs things. Kinda neat when you go from the iron doors of Kirk's mind welded shut 24/7 365 to this. Summary: He's a smart, detail-oriented coach who excels at time management during the week by maximizing gains from every possible minute. I'm sure there are many other coaches like this, it's just fun to get a look at what he wants to do.
