!*****Official Jok's Personal Trainer @ Windy Kittie Game Thread*****!

I was there at the game. Jok had a hurt back as the trainer was working on it.
Uhl is hurt. that is too much for iowa to overcome against a good NU team at home who couldn't
miss.
There was a lack of effort and you could see Cook was frustrated.
Its a shame because 1/2 the fans were hawkeyes.

Sometimes offensive struggles lead to defensive struggles. Guys start over playing on D to try to make up for the O. We've seen much better D this season. We will see much better D and O. Young teams are tough to gage but I'm not getting to down on these players.

Yeah, this game got to me a little too much. Just a perfect storm if bad. Thanks HH, I'm usually not a ledge jumper, but I was ready to fly like an eagle....

Hopefully a bounce back...

ups and downs. beat purdue but not even show up against NW. when wagner is your leading assist man, you know you have problems............nothing against wagner's mad PG skills this game.

The Purdue game was tough and physical and took a toll. If I remember correctly Iowa has soundly beaten NW in the regular season only to lose to them in BTT. Perhaps the tables will be turned this year.

We beat them by 26 points both games before losing in the tournament to them.

MSU is a younger team than Iowa. Which team would yo put money on now?
Younger than 4 freshmen and a senior? Are they really? Also where is the game we would be betting on? At home I would bet us. Neutral i would probably bet on them if I had to pick someone. I would also bet on Kentucky to beat us so I'm not even sure what your point is? Maybe that our young team should be better than a blue blood's young team?

Somebody needs to inform those egg head Northwestern fans that the air ball chant is worn out blabber from the 1990s.

I don't want to throw this out as an excuse but I think we are a little knicked up as a team. Jok and Pemsl have some back issues. JBo tweaked his ankle at the end of the game the other night. Uhl has his injury. We already lost Dale Jones. Cook and Williams had injuries earlier in the year, who knows if they are back at 100% yet.

MSU is not younger than Iowa. On Kenpom Iowa has an average experience of .93 years which ranks 343rd. MSU average experience is 1.22 years which ranks 315th.

I figured there was no way. How does someone think MSU is younger than a team that starts 4 freshman and almost every bench player is a sophomore?

Iowa is the youngest Power 5 team in the country. It's not an excuse, it's a fact. However, last night was a disaster. It will be interesting to see if they can bounce back against MD.

Iowa is a very young team there is no doubt about that. They are not the only young team. I will be sure that at the end of the year, one team will be a tough out. Young teams make mistakes. MSU certainly has had it's struggles. Those calling for Fran's head are over doing it. Those pointing consistently....Look, see how young we are...it's an excuse. Unless it was a huge recruiting class on stars, there isn't much excuse in being so young.

This years team when they play well is about the first Fran team I've seen that isn't totally non-fluid on offense. That is a plus. The years team at times plays defense. No in in the modern History of Iowa basketball has been dealt more severe blowouts than Fran and it isn't even close. 7 years in (and then add end the exit last year) and no one comes close to the blowout. Many of these blowouts are truly that...blow outs. Theyaren't like being behind by 15 and then giving up 5-10 late when it's over. They are total dismantlings of very unusual proportions.

Point, Iowa is young, don't count your chickens yet.

Wrong. They've inserted Tum Tum Nairn back in the lineup so they start a Senior and a Junior.

Regardless they are young and to my knowledge they started 4 most of the year. Both teams are young. I am quite confident that MSU will be a tough out Big Ten Tourney time. Iowa, not so sure. Maybe. I would strongly expect that MSU freshmen will be fundamentally stronger as a group than Iowa's will be at that time.

The word Wrong was a little strong. Snopes would call it something like "not exactly correct" or something like that.

Well when you don't recruit at the level of a blue blood, then you are going to have more growing pains than they are. Do you really think Iowa is gonna recruit at MSU's level? Of course their young team is gonna be better than our young team.
