Halftime interview:
"We just need to clean up a few things, but certainly credit to Minnesota for not making it easy for us out there today" -Kirk

No Kirk, we need an overhaul of our offensive scheme. We run plays just for the sake of running plays. We don't do anything logically to try to take advantage of opponent at hand.

Time for some positivity: Those timeouts roll-over to the second half so we have a strategic advantage . . . at least that's what Verizon told me.

It's to bad. When we have good receivers we don't utilize them and when we have average receivers we don't utilize them. Kirk's ideal game is when both teams run the ball every play and the winner is the team that fumbles less.

PC is correct; however, with Kirk you don't know if that was actually going through his head or not.

If you think the end of the first half was anything other than fail . . . well, you're wrong.

play-calling = fail

execution = fail (remember the penalty?)

clock management = fail

Just think how inept we'd be if we weren't paying for elite coaching?????

I think we have some talent at WR. But it's inexperienced talent that needs more game reps. Drops can be fixed.

I agree. But there is a plethora of evidence that KF would have messed it up somehow. Execution is not only a grade for players. But the penalty saved KF any angst.

Lol true. He always likes to get a 1st down before he goes into hurry up mode. But that's when we start around the 20 or so. This time we stared with such good field position (I can't believe I'm actually going to say this) I think Kirk actually knew what he was doing there. I feel dirty now.

The good news is that Iowa is ahead. I thought the score at half would be 3-17 with some big Minnie gashes.

But....

Play calling was great. Everything we called worked until the 15 yard penalty that is a drive killer every time.
