N'Western, Purdue and Minneosta

Baker really is a weird story. Not only was he a walk on, originally at Texas Tech, he transferred from Tech because they wouldn't give him a scholarship after a good true freshman year. Weird.

It was just the first game so can't take too much away from that but thought Northwestern didn't look as good as I expected and I think both Minnesota and Purdue will be in a fight to who finishes above Illinois in the bottom of the West.

I thought this thread was going to be like Johnny Carson and when I opened the envelope it was going to say "three teams who consistently recruit vastly better WRs than Iowa"
According to Dochterman and Morehouse, Iowa's skill players are now better than line players. Don't believe me? Listen to their latest podcast (Iowa vs Northern Illinois preview).

Minnesota still sux.
Northwestern is about what I expected, gonna be a tough out this year.
Purdont takes a step back this year but I do like that Rondale Moore kid. But Im afraid at his size, he’s gonna see the medical ward sooner than later.

Don't know how many linemen are on the roster didn't count, but the vast majority are from Iowa.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Good thing. Big ole farm boys is what we specialize in. Welcome to Iowa football. You planning on staying awhile?

Linemen..probably a good thing. Skill positions...probably less so.

I don't know how many of Wisc linemen are from Wisc, but farm/rural hoss's seem to fair well on the oline it seems...

About 15 Wisconsin and 17 Illinois boys on Iowa’s roster. Is that good or bad?

Wyoming did already play New Mexico State and they beat them 29 to 7. It was 29 to 0 until the last 4 minutes when NMST managed a TD on 3rd string Wyoming. NMST is horrible and Minnesota should have destroyed them like they did. This game tells us nothing about Minnesota.
Yes and Minnesota was losing in the 1st quarter. Minnesota going to be a door mat in the West this year
