We'll see this year, but the Hawk's defense tends to have a bigger say in scoring difference than the offense.
I'm hoping the defensive trend continues and offense mixes it up.

Northwestern is the superior team. They look like a complete team. Purdue isn't playing defense well enough..that was expected. I did not expect to see PU thor interceptions so much.
Forgot how long it takes to watch a football game - i'm used to highlights. 2 hour 1st half.

Purdue is about what I expected. They have a good throwing offense. Not much run. Sindalar threw 3 picks in the first half. But that really doesn't tell the story. He is very accurate most of the time. Bad head work on the picks. Which NW turned into 21 points. Rondal Moore is a good little scat back. At 5.7 he gets lost in the shuffle. Purdue's defense isn't that good. They are young. Lot of missed tackles on both sides.
Northwestern looks good with Thorson in, less so with him out. Looks like they are not rushing him back. NW defense is average. Couple of major breakdowns led to 2 scores by Purdue.
Overall so far I don't think either team is a contender. To be expected in the first game.
Minnesota it's tough to judge, they started slow then they came alive in the second quarter.

I wouldn’t say they are horrible. They won a bowl game over Utah St. i watched them almost beat ASU last year. They aren’t great but I didn’t expect Minnesota would route them.
Cmon man, WY routed them at their own house. I don't think we learned a thing about Minnie Mouse tonight.

Wyoming didn’t play NMST. If you are talking about Utah St. they beat them 28-23 hardly a route. I’m not saying Minnesota will be anything other than what they normally are but they have a few athletes.

Wyoming did already play New Mexico State and they beat them 29 to 7. It was 29 to 0 until the last 4 minutes when NMST managed a TD on 3rd string Wyoming. NMST is horrible and Minnesota should have destroyed them like they did. This game tells us nothing about Minnesota.
I'm not always so confident. Especially with a small lead early in the 4th quarter...
