Iowa will win 9 in the conference. I see them beating Northwestern twice, Penn State twice, Nebraska twice, and 3 home wins over Wisky, Purdue, and Illinois.

With one more win in the BTC tourney, the Hawks will go dancing.

Right now, with the way Illinois plays and their athletes, I'm not sold on Iowa over Ill.
Especially if the Krush comes to town and embarrasses the Iowa fanbase again.
 
If Iowa loses to Northwestern then we not good enough to go dancing this year. Northwestern should equal 2 Wins, nothing less...
 
Freshmen on the road, normally play like. well freshmen.. I believe Iowa has won 1 game played outside the state of Iowa.. Northwestern will be a tough game

Actually they do. It's brought up on how teams play with/without players and if those major players will be playing on the team come tourney time. The selection committee has said as much. For instance, if a team is 14-1 to start the year, their leading scorer gets hurt. They lose 8 out of 10. Then the guy comes back for the last few games and they finish 20-11 or something, they see those middle games in a much different light because its a different team. One player can make a HUGE deference in college basketball and the committee knows this.
 
I don't like that they do that myself, your resume is your resume, regardless of injuries as they are a part of sports.

Uh no. If so can Wisconsin get a waiver for losing Josh Gasser for the entire season not just one game?? How about losing Mike Bruisewitz for several key games? No? Damn.

Players miss games due to injury all the time. It sucks and it's unfortunate but the NCAA committee isn't going to take that into account.

Tough loss but there are plenty of more chances to pick up wins.
 
The problem as I see it for Iowa is there are 9 games at home in conference. You are now 0-2. 7 left to play. Most of the big wins against good teams have to come on your home court because it's just so damn tough to win on the road in this league. You don't have good wins yet (neither do we) but we have plenty of opportunities to pick up resume wins for the NCAA. Iowa's early schedule was tough in conference but it's pretty weak after that. That almost makes beating Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois at home mandatory.

Your team's resume didn't change because Gasser was out.
If Gasser played 18 games and the Badgers went 16-2, then they went 8-6 the rest of the way after a season ending injury, the committee is going to look at that team differently post-injury. It happens in the selection process. When a team has an injury mid-season, they look to see what the resume of the team that finishes the season looks like.

This is standard selection committee stuff here. Not ground-breaking or anything.

THe committee isn't going to say "Oh, Roy Marble got hurt! That is why they should get in over so and so".

Marble is decent, but not that good that the committee gives a rats ***.

You drinkin? 0-3 in BB. 4-8 in football. 9 out of 10 would take fitz over Kirk. Iowa has better facilities and still gets beat. look at the scores over the past 5-7 years and we can talk.
 
The road has not been kind to us in the 2 true road games we have played thus far. Our leading scorer may return but im guessing will be far from 100%. Id look for a close game and hopefully the young hawks can gain the confidence of pulling a close one out.

One of your rare intelligent posts.:D If you saw the way MSU bodied up on us and played physical, MN will absolutely demolish us. They are the most physical team in the country, I do believe.

The days of the committee only looking at the last several games are long gone. They now look at every game played. I still think Spank is probably reaching in the hopes that RDM being hurt will be considered in our resume, but I have no proof that he's wrong. Just a gut feeling
