Wasn't Horner one of Jok's HS coaches? If so, maybe based on that experience Horner thought that they could "get inside Jok's head" with a little rough play. Maybe he instigated some of the crap in a pre-game talk.

I think the game tape should be reviewed...look at Jok shots, Hood move at the end of the game...et. al. Hoping it happens...might work to the good of Iowa during the season.
 
Having a problem understanding those who think Fran was angry. Ever seen Fran angry.....

The look on Fran's face and his gesture were one of disgust and contempt for the ND coach.....

Instead of reprimanding the player who mugged Baer he approved it by signaling the referee for a made basket. Anyone think he should be commended for his behavior.....

Know any current or former Hawkeye coaches who would coach and approve of such behavior.....

Fran did the right thing by getting his players off the court without another incident. Tempers were running rather hot after that punk play.....

From ESPN:

After the game, McCaffery said he was leery of a potential confrontation in the handshake line. Horner had words with some Iowa players and assistant Kirk Speraw, according to The Cedar Rapids Gazette, in what remained of the line.

Fran apologized this morning. Jones did not. Not surprised by that at all. Classless fool all the way around.....
The Hawkeyes are coached to behave better than that. Baer was cool about it and he and everyone else turned and walked away. Jones was the angry one. Wondered if he was going to hit Coach Speraw.....

Actually the referees let this one get away.....

Mere speculation.....Nothing else.....

He didn't act classless. He was protecting his players. Were you at the game? It was escalating quickly. Fran doesn't need to learn anything. HE WAS PROTECTING HIS TEAM

Just give it a rest..Don't try and blow it out of proportion Chosen and make it out to them going to brawl. That's silly talk.. No I wasn't there but I watched the ending and have watched it over and over today. Shit wasn't escalating at the end lmao.. Dakota players and coaches were lining up ready to shake hands and leave the court, as well as some Iowa players but were told to leave the court. Fran apologized for a reason today because he was wrong.

Maybe you need to watch the ending again..

Your idea of a no nonsense bad ass is my idea of a petulant cry baby. If Fran didn't do anything wrong, why did he apologize for his behavior? Don't get me wrong, i think Fran had done a great job in his time at iowa so far, he just let his emotions get the better of him last night and looked like a fool. PS, keep waiting for your list of saints, but it isn't coming.

If the ND coaching staff has been in contact with Alford prior to or after the game or both.

If Steve Alford was cheering for the ND upset?

Best point yet. Fran wasn't pissed. He was disgusted. Being so pissed off that you don't want to do the hand shake does come off as douchey. Being so disgusted at their poor sportsmanship that you decide to return the favor is kinda funny.

If Fran was so concerned about potential confrontation why was he the first to leave the court? I mean that doesn't make sense, when his team was still on the opposite side of the court and the other half of the team was beginning to line up for handshakes.


If things were so malicious like people saying, Iowa needs to send the game video into the NCAA..
 
Whether or not you agree with Fran, I get a kick out of the way some in the media portray what happened.

ANGRY... naw, we've seen Fran angry. He was just disgusted. And Iowa "stormed off the court" following the game... looked like they just kinda walked away to me. "Stormed?" please...

Let's sell some papers, get some clicks... screw an accurate reflection of what happened.

Meh, listened to Hawk Central podcast and they said they talked to some reporters out East and said Fran did that a few times there as well.

Fran and Brian both said the right things that night and the day after, it's done and it ain't a big deal.
