Nico is leaving

This is the story with the eye witness accounts.

Sheagle....he is already an Iowa verbal but grades may be an issue. He was supposed to visit last weekend but is still finishing things up with grades. Supposedly he is visiting soon and enrolling during his visit. I hope this is the case. This also would explain Reynolds going from a grey shirt to a full scholarship this week. Kirk probably let Nico go out the way he wanted instead of a news release.

Derrick Mitchell from what I heard.

Keep in mind, Ferentz generally has a much shorter leash for older kids who are expected to be leaders in the program. Law has been around for a long time. He knew better. To have an infraction like this at this point in his career was not a bright move.
Damn. Well if that's true it's as it should be.. I'm kinda surprised he got the option to transfer and wasn't outright kicked off however.

I don't have a link from a reputable news source, but that's the rumor that I've seen the last few days. FUISU (who has posted over here some in the past, but I don't think he posts over here anymore) posted on another site that this isn't the first time Nico has kicked someone in the head while they were on the ground.

given he got the quick hook, surely this is not his first rodeo with team transgressions/violations.

I don't get the feeling he got the option to transfer. I think KF showed him the door, but took the high road, and let Nico appear to go on his own terms. This sounds a lot like the Jewell Hampton "transfer"

Very true. He probably made it crystal clear to the team he was not welcomed back. So to keep it from getting messy in the media this is the fastest way for it to blow over.

I'm having trouble reflecting. Refresh my memories with Hampton. I thought I recalled it was just splitting too many carries (A-Rob and BW).

no - hampton had 'too much smoke'..........these guys have transgressions that we never hear about - not necessarily with the police or law. but team violations that may be a failed internal drug test, for example. hampton, i think, was in this camp and had a final event that 'broke the camels back'.....

Unfortunate situation. Tons of talent, but couldn't ever crack the starting lineup. Then he just made a boneheaded mistake at a really bad time. I'm not gonna judge him because I've made plenty of mistakes myself.

Wish him the best. It hurts the Raider package a little bit because it sounds like his hybrid capabilities might have been used in those situations.

Hybrid capabilities? The guy couldn't start over an average B1G safety. He had enough to worry about just getting one position down.

like.

he was probably more worried about who was wronging him and how to effectively sucker punch him and then kick him when he was down........

Nico was an internet forum sensation. It would be a great research project to trace back how that started.

I hope the rumors about the sucker punch and kicking him in the head while he was down are not true, because that's a punk move no matter who you are. Too bad, because I always rooted for Nico.

Based on the witness's statement it sounds like he was at least in a position to make the tackle. Wonder if he used proper technique and took the proper angle.
